It always happens, I run out of 6s by mid-week. This is very creative, JoAnn, and very well written. When we get passed a certain age, the years fly by without us realising where they are going. Now, it seems that I can watch the hour hands moving. Well done with this one, my friend, I wish you the best of luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

This nonet is a very short definition of anyone's life. We are all fated to go and hope we can get all these things in. I like how you rhymed it,

Good luck in the contest.

Keep writing

Life is like an elevator, it goes up and down, but seldom remains still. This is a very well written poem with a smooth flow of words, making for a good read. There is good imagery.

A very well-written Nonet describing the lifespan of a human being from the cradle to the grave. It seems to be a long time, but it is over sooner than we thought it would be, live each day to the fullest while we can.

How true. YOur poem along with the picture says it well. I'm slowly dying from debilitating disease, as are many here. All we can do is read and write, so here we are... for a while, at least.

Great form and technique - rhyming is optional but was accomplished in conjunction with other literary devices, as in "travel, rant and rave" - I think this is consonence - and "love and lose" - an alliteration.

The image complements the theme and reminds quite a bit of "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.

Your poem isn't necessarily sad or spiritual, but a narrative of life on earth.

Thanks for sharing - good luck in the contest!

This is a great entry for the contest, one of the best I've read, I love the sentiments, the honesty and reality, I think we only realise the shortness of our lives when we get older, why don't we realise it earlier! Then we would get more out of life! II can't complain, I've had great fun and still enjoying it! You get my vote here, I loved this poem as it says it all and the art work is good too! Good luck, love Dolly x

Ah, too short, too short, but it seems long when we're young. We always think we have 20 more years. Loved this Nonet, good luck, blessings....

Brilliant picture which compliments your poem. Short, sharp and to the point! Great rhythm reflecting how quickly our life really does pass. We need to savour every moment. MaggieF
