I admired your lost-love descriptions in these rhythmic quatrains with alternating rhymes. Your lesson "to let go and rest" is quite wise. Best wishes- Joan

This is excellent, Janet. I enjoyed reading this fine poem and IF it is biographical, I do hope things are improving. You have described the deep mourning of loss, but the saving grace of faith. Nicely composed. Marilyn

Thank you Marilyn for your understanding and encouraging review. It is biographical and I dealing with things better. I don't see the situation improving - I'm the one who has to accept and move on. Thank you again for your kind review.

Lovely picture. Your poem flows well with good rhythm and rhyme. It is hard to let go of anger, perhaps we think if we don't have anger what have we got left? I loved 'your love is constant and always there' very positive. MaggieF

The flow of this moves off the tongue, except for one line, JM.

''It weeps and wails from ancient sin
and pleads to God to be made whole.''

Just the last line
''and pleads to God to be made whole.''

I think there because the rapid repeat of the preposition ''to'' in that line breaks the beautiful flow a bit, yet!

The reason I like this, apart from the flow, is the transition through without decoration...as it is, as should be said. No fancy words or phrases to say what should be said simply, and beautifully.

You did that here. Hence my last six star.

I found the piece giving, pure and believable.
Bravo.
Have a great day dear friend.
My best wishes.
RG

Thank you RG for your encouraging and thoughtful review. I greatly appreciate your kind comments and looking at the line "and pleads to God to be made whole", I agree. I changed it to "and pleads with God to be made whole". I think that removed the double "to" and doesn't change the meaning.

Thank you for your confidence in me and the beautiful six stars.

The paradox of love is that it can take us to the heights of pleasure or the depths of sadness..I like Garth Brook's song that says, "I could have missed the pain, but I would have had to have missed the dance." ...A very heartfelt poem...honest in feeling.

My favorite part:

A primal cry from deep within
resounds and permeates my soul.
It weeps and wails from ancient sin
and pleads to God to be made whole.

I enjoyed this poem, it was very profound and I could feel the emotion in it.
Great job.

All the time God is good!
Thanks for sharing.

As with other poems I've read of yours, this is such a testimony and gives God glory even through your pain. I love how your poem rhymes and moves steadily throughout to the very end. Nice!

nicely rhymed in the ABAB pattern
with consistent meter
The emotion comes through the words

Hi Janet, what an emotional, sad poem, but with hope at the end with God's love. Many people feel the pressures of everyday life, it's not easy at times to work through them. Your final stanza sums your feelings up nicely. Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Oh, this is such a beautiful, spiritually soothing poem. Religion is always a good place to turn at the time of inner struggles. You do it so convincingly and poetically beautiful.

These were just magnificent:

A primal cry from deep within
resounds and permeates my soul.
It weeps and wails from ancient sin
and pleads to God to be made whole.

This poem resonated with me deeply. I love spiritual poetry, and once even submitted a collection for a Seal review.
