Sounds like a peaceful way to spend an after noon. this poem gives a strong image of what you are watching. I like the personification of fish playing tag.

Don, Thank you so much my friend for your congratulation wishes on my second place win for my Etheree poem. I didn't see it coming, especially when it didn't flag six stars. It is composed true to form, having met the syllable count this form requires.
It has a haiku-like feel to it, an observation of a zenful moment.

This is a fisherman' poem friend and it will be the fishermen who get a buzz off it and get what it is you are conveying... the joy of the chase, the anticipation of the catch : ) Nice!

Your Etheree poem has the perfect pyramid shape. I personally think that's hard to do while, at the same time, trying to ensure the poem does not sound forced. You've done a great job with that! Your poem flows along nicely, tells a story, and creates wonderful imagery in the reader's mind. Well done! Best of luck in the contest! :)

I like all the verbs in your poem. It reminds me of the day recently when I saw the carp swimming in the pond at a Japanese garden. It brings a moment of relaxation to watch the carp in the shallow water. Your poem makes me think they are playing and having fun.

with excellent concrete imagery in the pond and carp.
