This free verse trips off the tongue easily and you have used occasional rhyme to good effect. The business of bread-winning often keeps us apart during the day and your description of the welcome reuniting in the evening is heart-warming.

I'm not in a position to write great reviews on free verse - I'll admit it's my least favourite type to write, and I'm often at a loss how to comment on it.

That said, I found the subject matter and content of this one very relatable, and I really liked the way the words flowed smoothly.

The nit-picky part of me says since you've chosen to punctuate, I'd love to see a period right at the end - but that's neither here nor there.

I think you've done a great job with it, well done.

There's lots of poetry in the simple things. This down to earth portrayal of how you day is centred around your husband's departure and return gives us a glimpse of your love for him.

Sounds like a wonderful and living relationship. Great visuals here, I can picture the whole thing - the breakfast, the coffee, the long wait for the loved one to cone home, the happy reunion.

I delve into free verse too from time to time - sometimes rhymed poetry just doesn't grasp the occasion.

I enjoyed reading this poem about your husband and the hours that pass until his return. My husband is a truck driver so I don't see him for weeks. How I wish I could see him everyday! Good read.
