Oh for the days when my hair didn't have silver sparkles, heavy sigh... That is a lovely picture, and your message has a home made apple pie quality to it. You present a feeling of home and all is right in your world when your hubby comes home from work at the end of the day. Nice free verse sketch :)

Aw, a true sweet romance seems to be present in this poem about husband & a wife who truly misses her soul-mate who anxiously awaits his return & it seems to be mutual....And really like the last line & great photo displayed, making it quite the read for those... especially who can relate when their spouse leaves for work & gone for a time, how glad they are to see one another again...With a very Lovely last line to end your free verse, and great photo displayed to make your poem so authentic.
Thanks for sharing...Caressa_08

What a lovely picture and a lovely poem, the picture might be old but your love still comes across loud and clear. The different length stanzas somehow works, 'My heart takes flight' says it all. MaggieF

A very good story of love. There is nothing better than young love when it first starts, except for love that has stood the test of time and grows stronger.

And you experimented well. Some of these can feel forced, but how natural this was. I actually had a little tear of emotion well up. Love to see happiness, and this gave just that.
I know life is not always roses, but that is what we have, short or long straw, and have to find the love.
I love the photo. Looks a lovely man.
My best to you both.
May your days be long with joy.

well, Miss Patty, if that was 17 years ago and you can still write that love poem, the gray/silver makes no difference - or at least no negative difference. Sounds like a happy marriage to me. Lucky you. Lucky him.
Your poem shows a quiet satisfaction- a feeling of well being, and you can't beat that! How many people would love to have that!
good job.
