This is a romantic poem and it makes an excellent statement for true love. It flowed well and your words complimented a free verse style. The poem flit through the day and ended with him coming home to you - His welcome is quite a sight. Good writing.

Hi Patty, you have a smile of Mary Lou Retton. In this picture, you do seem to have that resemblance. As for your man, his strong manly arm, you are blessed to have his handsomeness and that "tall, dark-haired, and handsome" built. This poem is endearing to read. I learn something with this free verse structure. I like the succinctness of the each line engaging to the end. The tone and mood that is poem impart is very loving strong bond relationship, relaxing, promising, and security. I love to have a man like that. But then in your note, this was 17 years ago :) but anyhow, inner love overrides all exterior changes-- I mean wrinkle lines on forehead, more silver hair, all the good stuff with aging. I am thrill for your happiness. Blessings, cumulus

A very nice tribute to a spouse written with obvious feeling. It is easy to read, with simple but telling language. It's the the time of life when these easy moments are treasured.
A very nice posting.
Thank you.

This is a lovely free verse Patty. Words from dawn to dusk - written when your husband went off to work. He must start early from what you write in this verse -
Twelve long hours,
'Tween morning and night,
His welcome is quite a sight................... that's a long day.
A very nice poem and a lovely picture of you and hubby. Warm regards Dorothy x

A lovely free verse poem which captures the essence of love-that desire to be constantly in tune and in touch with the one you love.
So many lovely sentiments expressed with pride.
