Now this I like. I don't know the rules of this site yet. But am I allowed to ask you if you would let me publish your story in my magazine? It's just a hobby magazine so no pay, just exposure..among perhaps 20 people who may buy it. But hey if I can get quality writes that number can grow! The magazine is called Intangience and is published through Blurb. If this gets deleted then I know I was in the wrong :P...still great write.

I like this one...Good luck in the contest...Win or lose it's a pretty good tear jerkier story...I followed it easily. If you have any errors I truly didn't see them; however, I was really just enjoying the story...

I enjoyed your well written story friend, I could feel the emotions getting stronger and stronger as the story went on, they say it is like loosing a child when you loose your beloved dog especially one that has just laid its life down for you. The ending had that warm feel good factor to it. it was a nice read!!

A dandy piece of flash fiction, Mr./Ms. Anonymity. I'd imagine most readers reacted as I that Zeek was a human, not a dog, until the story was almost half-over. I don't know if it was intentional, but it certainly worked. If I were hard-pressed to suggest a change at all, it would be the slightly less than evocative, "causing massive bleeding in my arms and legs." I'd rather have the "suggestion" of what the injury produced: causing his shirt to cling to his body, coughing of blood, and the like, but I realized the problem of word-limits and everything else was stunning!

Good descriptions of Zeke's affection and loyalty.
A realistic sounding story, with the Marshal's state of mind hoping the best for his partner through fantasy. Very moving. good job!
