A well-written contest entry. Although daffodils are usually early Spring flowers rather than Winter ones. Your words flowed well together and combined easily forming the message of the poem for the reader.

Nice reminder that some flowers bloom with the slightest provocation. While still winter, daffodils can be covered in ice and snow. I love the use of the word 'pirouette'. Daffodils look like dancers in the winter.

The image of the flower dancing while the background of winter fades away is visual and effective. The contrast of winter leaving makes spring's arrival even more noticeable.
