Yowza, Tony! What incredibly beautiful poetry. I've read it three times and like it more with each read. Such amazing word choices! Reading this made me realize how much I love outstanding poetry.

Hello Tony,
I can't possibly say enough wonderful things about this beautiful poem.
It drew me in like...
Well, like a moth to a flame. ;-)
The words were so smooth and velvety, each one lapped against my skin like waves against the shore...
You show, with tenderness, why you remain one of my very favorite poets.

This should certainly be saved to read again and again...
And I will.
I'm not around much lately, but I'm so pleased to read your lovely poetry whenever I am.

Take care,
Cat

-Good image and well penned poem, Tony.
-Vivid imagery, and meter that allows the poem to flow.
-A couple of images I like:
* "A feathered brush on powdered wing"
* "and let this dreamer flutter in
to touch reality"
-Good conclusion.
-Thanks for sharing.

This is a wonderful poem, my friend
A touch of Frost in Australia
"but I'll maintain a poet's right
to keep the window closed"
Beautiful imagery throughout, the poem, itself, is like
"A feathered brush on powdered wing"
You seem to have released your "prisoned thoughts"
Wish I had a six left on this Friday
but there's been a run on stars recently
Drawn to the flame, my friend
Very well done

"but I'll maintain a poet's right
to keep the window closed,
and pen my prisoned thoughts upon
this moonlit moth's repose."

What an enjoyable read, Tony, as always. I love the mellifluous cadence which exudes an aura of gentleness as the poet communes with the reader about the moth. Delightful

I know all about the Aussie moths, they love my clothes! Isn't nature wonderful? The eyes on the moth's wings give the predator a false look at food. You ain't seen nothin' yet, you oughta see our Wood moths. They are so big, they have landing lights! Some poems for you to read if you get a chance. XXK. Loved you nature poem and glad you didn't squash it!

Very many thanks for your kind words about my poem, Aussie. I know what you mean about the clothing moths and the pantry moth are just as bad!

I loved you analogy of the moth, the two iridescent eyes.
I must say the last stanza was my favorite, to twist it to a writers point of view.

It's like the vampire of butterflies for the clothes closet. Lol. Really now, good poem. Well thought out and nicely written. Good visual imagery created. Nice rhythmic flow. Great work.

p.s. Those clothing moths and pantry moths are quite another matter! I should have treated them much less kindly!

Greetings and cheers, Tony;
-this well acclaimed and licensed poem is truly a miraculous and exceptionally well composed piece of poetry has lifted my spirit with an exuberant understanding of all well this poem is really written.
-The well-placed rhymings are all contingent to the meaning and concept of each and every line therefore making and helping the rhythm flow smoothly throughout the writing.
-The well-placed metrical metering of each line helps with the flow of the enjambment which also flow smoothly throughout the writing without a hiccup for a syntactical break in the reading and the writing of this poem.
-I truly enjoyed the reading of this poem and this poetic form and thought to be 1 of the best forms I have read in quite some time.
-Thank you for sharing and posting this, Tony, and take care and have a good one especially with the one you love and care for.
Alex
