Such a soothing poem about a moth! I read your poem out loud to myself, and the rhyme and rhythm was flawless. It is a choice to let the moth go the light it so desperately desires, but it would be an ashy mess to let them burn themselves up.
Your poem flows well, and I thoroughly enjoyed it,

I'll have to forgive your "doth" here because it goes so well with moth without actually rhyming except in sight rhyme. I did like the second half of the poem best once done with the description the decision to keep the window closed and thus save the creature from inevitable heretic's death.

Some gaudy and beautiful nocturnal moths come round the windows here. The new LED lamps don't seem to kill them like the old incandescents. Excellent 8/6 verses.

A lovely poem about a moth.
They flutter in around our light bulbs, fooled into thinking it's the flame they seek. I think it's very kind of this poet no keep them out and away from the flame.
Excellent wording, rhyming, and flow. A delightful read. 8-)

What a perfect poem! You have such beauty in this creation; your words are so apt and descriptive. There is a feeling of lightness in your meter so like the moth. I always feel sad for poor moths as they are tricked by the light that eventually kills them. Well done on this lovely piece. Susan

No - not sure of how moths and butterflies differ, except in that moths generally fly by night. I think there may be something different about their antennae too. I've always rather liked moths - except the ones that produce clothing eating caterpillars!
