Good choice of antonyms, and nice rhyming for the payoff!
The message is quite apt when applied to excessive givers and takers.
Best wishes,
Don

This is a very interesting and good antonym poem you have penned. You used very good descriptive wording and very good imagery with the art work. Best wishes in the contest! Teri

Thank you, Teri. There are givers and takers. Best not to get too involved with takers. Marilyn

I liked you selection of extreme opposites for your Antonym Poem. Your addition of rhyme adds to the intensity of the message, as does the eerie image. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Thank you for your fine review and good wishes, Joan. A relationship with 2 givers would be ideal. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, this topic is quite extreme. Givers/Takers. I give to charity orgs and then I find they come back and increase the amount I just gave them before (even if the amount was handsome). I could not understand it, I think the orgs are greedy. Do they think I have a money tree in my backyard where I just plug off the money and give to them at their request. I guess charitable orgs will always lack of donated dollars. So I stop giving them for a while. For takers, I don't recall I ever take so much from any one. That would me look like a hoarder or just a shameless user. I am a worry wort. When I take something I do worry if I take too much, so I quickly do the return and practice generosity. The antonyms give a very interesting take. I find the ending rhyming give a nice ring to the read, bereft and left. I find line 1 and line 2 are simple;however, send a very powerful message about the frailty of human nature. You wrote a lovely yet very powerful antonym power. All the best in the contest. Best regards, cumulus

Hi Cumulus. Thank you for your review which I appreciate. It seems those of us who are givers can easily become the victims of voracious takers. Sooner or later the giver is unable to give anymore of self and has to leave. I think ideal relationships are two givers who care enough about each other to be generous with themselves. Marilyn

A good antonym poem. Unfortunately, it is all too true what you say. There has to be a balance of give and take, so relationships, any relationship can continue to flourish.
Good luck in the contest.

Hi Lu. Thank you for your nice review. Mutual give and take makes for good relationships. Sadly, too many only want what they can get from others. Marilyn

Neither the giver nor the taker seems to have a good outcome in your little ditty. Both extremes come off as harmful. Excellent formatting to add to the feeling of consternation.

Hi debi. Thank you for your review. In my opinion, the only good relationship is one with two givers. Otherwise it's impossible. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn:

I like that you've rhymed your two center lines in this piece. There is a lot of truth about givers and takers as you've stated in the lines of this antonym poem.
Wishing you all the best of luck in the contest.

Kim

And I can absolutely attest to this, ha ha. I used to be such a giver. I never was the taker. Now, I'm but a 'watcher, ha ha. Love this entry!!! Blessings...

Hi Judy. Thank you very much for your great review. Givers have to become 'watchers' to make sure we don't get snookered into giving too much of ourselves. Marilyn

I don't usually like these poems but I did like this one. Give and take are a good choice for your antonyms and I really like the clever rhyme in your middle two lines. This even has good flow and cadence. Well done,my friend
