Hurtful revenge...in this your free verse... though we don't own anyone and no one owns us, even if we marry them....Love can turn bittersweet and painful, yes indeed, and cause us to think so differently......And still, we all suffer, when temptation comes and the one we thought we loved does wrong....It can lead us to take it out on this he or she...Though, are we any better than they, if something like this occurs? Especially if a murder does happen, and it could in an act of rage....And lead to being caught & a conviction & the guilt on one's soul....Though many are behind bars because what your poem does suggest in the last stanza....and sadness engulfs them there for a long... abiding time.

Thanks for sharing...It was an interesting read...Caressa_08

Oh dear, what tragedy for a cheating lover. Yet, somehow it does seem most appropriate. I enjoyed your tale of love gone terribly wrong. Your choice of words were well received.

Wow, your poem certainly took an unexpected turn. I liked the way how you built up to the climax and then you hit us, bam. A really well written piece. Thanks for sharing...Jacob

Holy shit. This was a good one. Did not expect the ending. Thanks for writing this one, I really needed something like this today. Definitely deserves its recognition.

Love it. A great poem that has two visions. The person speaking must be a little sick in the head or very obsessed. I like how in the end revenge is his death and neither girl would win love. It was fun reading this.

You have written an interesting poem of attempted love and a grievous surprise. You painted a story in your poem. I like it. On this day of very sweet poems that speak of chocolates and honey, your horror poem is an nice addition to the day.
well done

I must admit this post, I loved as poetry, was so far away but the picture of what love can do and does, the shock of the read did not last lone as realized I was reviewing a truly free spirited POET.

A very well written free verse. There is the desired rhymes or hinted rhymes and a semblance of a beat to the structure that a good free verse has. But the vengeful conclusion makes me wonder, Luna, if you ever considered sharing love letters with Dean Kuch.... you have some things in common - hehehe.

A small suggestion - please change the color of your font - it is a bit difficult to read the poem!

However, that being said, I persisted in reading the words. The last few stanzas were quite a surprise - who knew she would go so far to keep 'her man.'

Wonderfully written,
~patty~
