A romantic walk in the snow in the comfort of following the footsteps of others and enjoying the ambiance and sparkle of the snow scene, love Dolly x

As shadows cast a spell in twilight glow,
the sparkles in the snow begin to glow,
like sprinkled dust the fairies might bestow. ... Love the picture these lines create in my head.
Tom, the mono-rhyme is beautifully and skillfully maintained.
I enjoy your poetry and the eclectic styles you bring to my attention.
Happy New Year, friend.

I admire your tenacity in trying these various forms, Tom. I agree with you though - I don't think that this one will ever reach the mainstream! I think you'd be better employed getting out there and shovelling snow! LOL

Hello - this is a beautiful sonnet form which I have never come across before. All in monorhyme, you have written a lovely verse accompanied by a lovely photograph taken by you. I enjoyed the read. Well done! Warm regards Dorothy

Comment from Pantygynt
Some fine internal/cross rhyme here as well in the first and last stanzas. Strange indeed that it should involve Pushkin's hero with not a feminine rhyme in sight. a couple of good alliterations in there as well but lingering on that particular seat might freeze one's butt solid, me thinks.

Thank you Pantygynt, a very astute observation. I was glad I had my long-johns on under my bluejeans, as that metal seat was quite cold.

I bet.

A very well-written Arabian Onegin Sonnet and a new format never seen before. I like the lightness and very good flow of the sonnet. Definitely one format I would like to try.

Absolutely beautiful picture it fits in nicely with the beauty of winter that your poem speaks about.
While I am not a fan of winter cold , I can admire the beauty of it

I love leaving footprints in snow. It's more fun than sand, but cold. Nice wintry visual imagery. Good flow of rhythm and rhymes. Nice work. Great author notes too. Keep up the wonderful work :)

Well I agree with your note. I would have had no idea about this poetry format if you hadn't provided that information!
Love the picture that this poem creates. Our Kansas winters have been too warm lately for much snow, but I remember years when the snow 'was layered', and our whole yard was a blanket of white, perforated by coyote tracks.
Wonderful photo! Enjoy winter.
