This is a great entry and so apt. Aren't family members so different? (I know my four sisters and I cannot be more different) Yet, we all stitch together into a beautiful quilt of family. Good luck, see you at the finish line, cheers, j

Wow! There's a lot of good poems in this contest. Yours is one of my favorites. I like your subject and your message about family is defined in an unique way.

What wonderful metaphorical imagery you have
used here! Especially in terms of the iconic style
of homemade quilts. . .bits and pieces of seemingly
unrelated material woven together by sentimental
attachment and producing memories tapestry.
so much said in a mere 11 syllables :-)

this was so quaint and comforting. I enjoyed the unexpected topic -- thought I was going to read about sewing but it was about family. The use of unusual punctuation made it visibly quirky, which lent to the feeling of the poem too. Nice job in such a concise poem.

That is undoubtedly the definition of family, especially when extended family and pets (can't forget them) are included. Good luck in the contest....

This is an interesting entry for the contest
with exact syllables at 3-5-3
A family is a union, just like a patchwork quilt
odds and ends sewn together to make a whole
Excellent picture to go with poem
Well done
Good luck in the contest
