I loved the poem but hated the maths. That pretty well sums me up but I actually didn't understand your explanation where it reads L3=x+1syllables....5....7....9. Either the total or the formula is incorrect as x= 6....8....10 so x+1 would equal 7....9....11. in the case of this poem we are in column three and the syllable count = 9 so I think it is the formula that is incorrect and should read L3=x-1.

2nd review. Ah! So 2 and 2 still make four. I can never be certain with my maths. Formula is now correct. Back to first review.

A few years ago we had a jay nesting locally but I havent seen the bird for a couple of years at least, or hear him either. They are raucous birds with a screeching cry. could be a different variety to yours but the colours are similar. I imagine they are the colours of the cock bird. The female in bird species is usually a drab creature -- makes one glad to be human doesn't it?

Thank you Pantygynt, yes they are very noisy, just as you describe.

I see the typo and did fix the formula to X-1.

I'd better amend my review or everyone will think I've gone mad. I have to say I am glad I was right because I am such a duffer at maths.

Birds can be so colourful and Mother Nature has painted them in such wonderful hues and the Bluejay brings joy to our scenes, lovely poem, love Dolly x

Hi T,

This looks like an interesting form. You've captured the traits of Bluejay very well here. The descriptions are vivid, and make this more appealing. The bonus of strong rhymes make your words flow well.

Regarding the notes, L3 should have "x-1" syllables, instead of "x+1" that you mention. The syllable count there contradicts the formula.

I enjoyed reading it.

Regards,
Anupam

Thank you The death. Hmm, my x was 10 and I count L3 as 9, which is x-1.

Oh i see. It was a typo in the formula. I fixed it. Thank you.

Another complex form here, and it suits to describe the Bluejay, a bird with beautiful coloring and a real cheeky attitude. Don't you think? We have them around here too. You seem to like exploring new and/or obscure forms - I like that! It's a great exercise for a poet, I believe :))

This is a very well written poem you have penned about the Blue jay. It is a very pretty bird and you captured it with the picture you used. Very good descriptive wording and imagery! Blessings, Teri

It seems to be a very difficult form of poetry. The Blue Array is a beautiful looking bird, I did not see them around here. An excellent capture at the right moment.

Thank you Sandra. They are pretty, but noisy and mean to other birds.

You'd think I'd be familiar with this form, since I am smitten by alliteration--but it requires a complex formula! You managed the requirements well, and I enjoyed your rhymes and apt use of "apparel" as well. Cheers- Joan
