I stood next to the record polar bear mounted in the glass case in Anchorage Intl
and if a brown is much bigger than that, I don't even want to see one. Seems your cowboy is afflicted with common sense and a heart. Excellent.

Thanks. I've seen quite a few bears in B.C. I wouldn't want the cowboy to shoot one. Yep, he's one of the good guys.

Great cowboy poetry, Very good rhythm all the way through and the rhyming works very well with the story. Plus its a great cowboy story right to the end.

I really did enjoy this story about the cowboy, his dog and his flock. I sneaked a look at your notes hoping to find out who Rusty was. So he's a cattle rustler, it seems. I'm glad that the bear family was spared any action that would have turned them into steaks (I love bears and I saw a few during my years in Montana!)

Thanks. If you sneak a peek at JJJ's other adventures in my portfolio you'll meet Rusty. You'll love to hate him. I've seen plenty of bears in B.C. I wouldn't want the cowboy to shoot them.

My last six goes to this delightful story poem. There was no break in the flow of the well rhymed story.
I followed the cowboy and the bear escapades as he continued his quest for food to replace what the bear bandits had eaten. Nicely done, I wish you the best in the contest. :) Carolyn

Cindy, this is a pleasant yarn about jerry Jing-Jang the cowboy, and your rhyming verse rolls along sweetly to tell the story. He's obviously a fairly laid-back fella.

I am a little confused about the end part with Rusty up the tree. Who is Rusty and what happens to him? I thought it might be the second cub, but then the next line about the bears letting him get away didn't make sense...

If you check out JJJ's other adventures, you'll learn all about Rusty. He follows JJJ around trying to rustle the cattle. The bears foiled his plan.

This was quite a wonderful narrative poem, Cindy! Your word usage is precise and creates a lovely rhythm. The characters have life and the imagery is detailed- both are difficult things to do when making a poem of this length. Well done!

Jerry Jing Jang sounds like quite the adventurer. This flowed well, and I can picture it as a children book. Blessings... Christy

I really like this story in a poem. It is creative with brilliant images. I love the way it has the spelling just as it is spoken. A touching story. Sorry no six for it. I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Mary

Wish I had a six left for this delightful tale. Just the sort of thing to delight both the little ones and their grandparents! I haven't heard the expressions "scared the bejeebers out of me" and "Gee willikers!" for years! A rollicking good adventure that captures the essence of childhood imagination.
