Very nice poem. It has good mental image (Times archive) I am not sure if time is suppose to be capitalized or not. I like the poem though and I am sure you will do well in the contest.

Bravo for using such poetic metaphor succeeding in bringing in the timely New Year theme in so few words! I like how the "mosaic palette" matches the visual of the single firework explosion and how the last line simply states the new status of the previous year!

Soon 2016 will be the past just like you described. It has seen alot. A historic election, many of our legends that we grew up with have passed, and Brexit.
Nicely written in clear crisps word.
