A very good poem exploring the eternal questions of life and meaning, when all about seems chaos. The past (things foretold) and the future (on the other side), with us caught in the often horrible present (a troubled world). Blind faith works for some, one-eyed opinions work for others, having 2 eyes doesn't necessarily mean having 20-20 vision or hindsight. Keep the faith.

I like this and the powerful message conveyed. I like how it rhymes and flows beautifully. I believe that you're onto something sir. I believe as you've stated that we should continue on the path of faith. Well done Jaybird1!

No.
He couldn't have, Jay.
Or was your poetic query merely a rhetorical one?
Don't bother answering...
Good structure and composition, and your meter reads smoothly enough.
I'm quite sure this one will resonate with the religious masses.

Wow. This is really good. It's a profound message but has a fairly casual tone. The rhyming is spot on and yet sounds natural. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Six star material! Thanks for sharing.

I really liked this, there was one line in which the sentiment hit me so hard and I could really relate to the words that were said.
This is my fave line
'Till void of hope, he realized,
some things we cannot know.
This is a great thing to accept and I like how you got it across in this piece!

Great writing Jaybird1...it's true, it's all about perception.
This had a fluidity to it, making it easy to read.
Congratulations on your awards...

Excellent offering--your rhymes seem so easy and the rhythm is obvious and deliberate--as always you provide life's lessons with your poetry-- most enjoyable
Thank you for reviving this
All the Best!

No matter wether we have one eye or two...no one really knows what waits on the other side. The only way to know is to go to the other side, being sure to keep to our faith in this life and be prepared to answer for our actions. It makes you think.

Very well-written, flows well and very thought-provoking. Why is it we try to understand with our mortal minds what's not to be understood? It just is! Awesome poem and presentation! Blessings, Cathy

I think the poem has a nice play on the idea of seeing; what we can see in the physical world, and what we can't see in the spiritual world. You take that image of the one eyed man and delve into these ideas of the physical and the spiritual, and what our experience is of each. Which is more real? You seem to ask that question here. estory
