It is a unique and exciting Christmas entry poem. Full of fun with rhythmical stanzas. The image looks delicious, makes you want to eat it. Well done and best luck on the contest. Blessings, Ella

Happy holidays to you and your family, Persevere;
-I really enjoyed your holiday poem of baking potatoes and all of your family sitting around to enjoy them.
-Very excellent rhyming which was established to create, with each word, a contingent and supportive understanding for each word and each of the lines without and with none of the words being forced or labored.
-The enjambment flows freely and fluidly throughout the writing without a hiccup or a syntactical break in the reading.
-Thank you for sharing and take care and good luck in the contest and may all your wishes be granted.
Alex

It would be a good idea! What a lovely Christmas poem, it is something many mums will be doing on Christmas Eve/day Morning. My husband and I will be at my sons for Christmas dinner, so really looking forward to the break. Well done on this poem, and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xxx

Your review is much appreciated. I feel my husband and I have reached the stage where the preparation of a Christmas meal for a large crowd is too much to handle. Our children and grandchildren are continents away and our two guests are in much the same position so we shall just enjoy each other's company. Have a blessed Christmas Sandra.

Sure, why not, Persevere? Four at your table is much better than none, I would think.
As for me, I prefer fried potatoes myself, but I'm very "country"--a redneck, if you will, not one of a more refined ilk.
Feliz Navidad.

Thank you Dean . We will be more refined on Christmas Eve and have our roast potatoes, a step up from our bowl of chips.

Persevere, cooking any Christmas dinner is quite a feat.
Great job on your rhyming. Hopefully, your friend will
change her mind about the kind of potatoes. Good
luck in the contest.

Your comments and good luck wishes are much appreciated. My friend sounded very stressed so I hope the menu is changed to suit both oven capacity and time limitation.

That is a lot of spuds to be dealing with however they are to be cooked. It would surely require an oven of professional proportions. No wonder institutional cooking never results in good roasties in my experience. Is this mum trying to feed the five thousand?

I agree. This is a tall order as cooking and keeping food warm in a normal household oven is a challenge. Other family members will be bringing other dishes.

When I saw the picture I clicked on it thinking it was scallops. Imagine my disappointment when I found out they were potatoes.

A well-written contest entry. Your words flowed well line to line combining easily and forming the message of the poem for the reader. Good luck in the contest.

Nicely written message of the hassle of preparing a large meal for so many. Often we will get caught up in all the cooking and not have time to appreciate why it is we are celebrating in the first place. Patricia

Your positive review is much appreciated, Patricia. I also feel that the real meaning of Christmas is often swallowed up by attempts to produce cordon bleu menus.

A very well-written poem. We prepare for the Christmas meal and all the activities we have to do around Christmas time. We sometimes forget what Christmas is all about after all.
