Perfectly characterizes obsession in a poetic manner. After the first sentence, the flow is seamless. I'm either not reading the first sentence the way it was intended to be read, or else it might be improved by instead saying "I'm a force to be reckoned with, even if you try hard to resist."

This free verse is well written. The way obsessions grow is well expressed. You have used good metaphors anddescriptive phrases. This piece is well presented, also. Good job!

Author,
I think you have described Obsession extremely well in this work of emotion.
Obsession is probably a result of too much mind wandering. Most people spend up to 50 percent of their time mind wondering instead of staying focused on priorities such as a task or learning something which engages the brain. Researchers have concluded that a wandering mind is an unhappy one. When one becomes mindful changes, good changes happen in the brain.
Thank you for sharing. Best wishes with the contest.
