Excellent essay!
I know Hillary was not in your equation, but she is in mine, and I voted for her happily because, 1) she is not a racist, rapist, misogynist, xenophobe who lies every time her mouth opens, and 2) I believe she truly loves her country.
Now, I am crushed.
I wish the world at large had read this beautifully crafted essay before last Tuesday.
Now you can write an essay about the end of the world as we know it.
Wonderful word choices, strong arguments. I'm very impressed. I don't do 6 stars often. Not AT ALL often.

I think you did a great job getting your opinion out. Unfortunately, I agree with all of it. I say unfortunately because I'm still in shock he is our President! Maybe he was playing Truth or Dare with his "Boys" and they dared him to become President. That pretty much sums up how I feel about Trump. On the other side of it, I understand people wanting change and just hoping he can do it. In my state (Oregon) we are having a crisis with homelessness partly because the landlords doubled or even tripled the rents. This forced people out and with a shortage of rentals and high prices these people could not afford the rent or even find a place. This has led to people on the street or we also have motorhomes parked everywhere. In addition, we have been lied to so much from our state politicians of where our tax money went. We do have a new Governor (who is doing good things) because our last one (had long time) resigned because of fraud. Anyway I better stop writing and just say I love your guts to speak your mind. Thumbs up!

I agree. The man is a worse than a moron. He's demented and dangerous. I wouldn't trust him with a goldfish, let alone millions of lives. The entire world has something to worry about now that he's president.

I could not agree more. I am appalled that Trump won. This is a very well-written piece. There certainly IS a huge difference between Bill Clinton's behavior and Trumps, between consensual sex- even INAPPROPRIATE consensual sex, which happens in the workplace or involves married people- and sexual ASSAULT, which isn't "sex" at all, per se, but violence. Trump's behavior is more akin to Cosby's than to Bill Clinton's. I like the calm, rational way this piece laid out your objections to Trump without giving way to hysteria. All of us need, at a time like this, to keep our wits about us. Great piece.

All I can say is, it is a damn shame that more Americans don't think along the same lines.
Your piece is written in an easy conversational style that I felt worked well with the subject matter.
Speaking as an Aussie who has no input on the election of the US president (though we are affected by your choice like the rest of the world)- all I can say is that it is completely unfathomable to us that such a person could be elected to the highest office in the world!
Still what is done is done, a well written bit of work that lays out your thinking and argument in a clear and concise fashion.

Your writing was outstanding and most enjoyable to read. I agree with your comments. He does need to work on his morals and behavior. He is one man, and I believe he will be carefully watch by the other branch of government. I also think his conduct as President will be professional, or we will surely see another impeachment-

This is amazing. My heart hurts but all you can do is accept what happened. I want everyone who voted him to be able to prove me wrong now. Prove to me that he deserved to win. after all, that's all you can do now. I don't know if you've ever watched Survivor but I feel like I've just been blindsided.

I for one didn't vote. I think the best thing we can do is to not participate in a farce. One thing I plan to write about is why we were faced with the candidates we had and not candidates that actually stood for individual rights. I see the trend only getting worse.

Once again, I was never ever notified of this post. Do not know what gives. Maybe the gods do not want me to review you. Lol...
Your missive is spot on and filled with logical reasoning. But today, he is now president. I can hardly put a capital P on it.
Our democratic process has become a huge joke and we the people have made it so. We have allowed this. It's embarrassing and degrading.
So now we will see what plan the man has! We can only hope he puts his chimp ways behind and garners geniuses with not only social intelligence but an in depth understanding of international law and unmasked economics for his advisory committee.
Who knows, he may surprise us all! He might take off the ape costume and say April Fools, boy I had ya going!, now let's get to work. But then again, if this scenario plays out, what does it say about the majority of the United States citizens.
Do not get me wrong, I did not have a bleeding heart for Hillary either, but if only we as a people would have garnered the promising viable ones.
One thing is clear, election reform needs to be on the horizon. Who of our Forefathers are turning in their graves?

After reading this I do get the impression that Donald
Trump is not one of your favorite people. I am with you I can't understand why anyone would cast a vote for this kind of man. There are other alternatives on the ballot besides this A hole and Hillary. One of them will get my vote
