This is an adorable story! I didn't find any errors, and your choice of font was very easy for the eyes. Haunted houses have feelings, too! Good luck in the contest!

Hey, thank you! :) I just put on haunted house music and that helped put me in the mood. Also, found a picture of a house in my hometown, built with brownstone bricks--very creepy looking but charming. :P

This is very cute -- the type of story that might make a nice children's book.
The writing is easy to read and proceeds linearly.
Thanks for sharing

Hello, María. I see you've written a little terror tale for us all to sink our teeth into. Sorry to be so late to the party...

Everybody in the village knew the house at the end of Dikler Drive was haunted. ... Good opening to draw your readers into the story and make them want to learn more, María. Also, a very good description of the old Dikler house follows.
Nice...

Well, apparently they haven't. You'd better think of a solution and don't call me till you have. I hope your poor father doesn't find out. It would break his already delicate heart.' ... If Matilda's mother was an elegant old mansion by the sea, then what was her father, the boathouse? Heh-heh-heh...

Matilda's father was a stone castle on the edge of a cliff and erosion wasn't a kind friend. Oops...I stand corrected. You see, I read & review as I go.
I feel I can give a much more accurate review that way...

Well...I'll be. A haunted house story with a happy ending.
Who'd'a thunk it?
Good writing, María. This is an excellent story for children.

    Thanks for reading, Dean.
I also review as I go, using the little bubble thingy on the left.

Yes, that's how I do it as well.
You're very welcome, my fiend friend. (sorry 'bout the little "slip" there, hee-hee...)

What an interesting turn this took. A very original and unique idea with a happy ending for a once haunted place. Great idea for the contest.

This is a delightful story told from the unique perspective of the house that didn't fit in with its (her) family. Snooty mother, ailing father, and know-it-all sister were probably not as happy as Matilda now is.
Nicely written entry for the contest!

Hi, Maria

= I love this story! The twist on her not wanting to be a haunted house and keep up family tradition was a great idea.
= Nicely told.

This is a warm your heart, feel good kind of story. I kept waiting for the ghost to appear, but I love that you gave the house a personality of its own. In that way, it is different from any other haunted house story I've ever read. Such a clever idea!

I have no more stars to give. This is the cutest story I have read in a long time.
I love how the children began to love the house which made the ghostly girl be come a happy child again.
