As you can see, I am trying to catch up and I am enjoying your capturing scenes at the lake. Thanks for introducing me to the new form as well. I enjoyed your rhymes and weaving in the senses of sight, sound and smell in this elongated form. Smiles- Joan

Good to see you back...you are my master of forms, and I love how you take them yet still manage to keep that lovely flow you want to deliver.
A nice sonnet.
My best wishes,
RGstar

I wish I could have been there Tom. Sounds like heaven especially with the call of the loon across a misty morning lake. I like my coffee black as well. Thank you for mentioning it was a form I started and you named. I like it so much I will use it again. Your poem is just lovely. I hope the form will catch on like the pantygynt and the octogram. Thank you my friend. Have a nice day! Nancy

Treischel: great control of your pen as you describe the early morning day! I like the loon crying out, voicing his thoughts, as you drink Folgers. We like the Black Silk with Italian cream. Some like coffee brewed with eggs. Yes, the church ladies in the basement have this as their secret recipe. We have geese down south in Minnesota. I know you had fun at camp. Feel free to stop over and read about "Aunt Sally Gee," with her cup of hot coffee and pastries. Nancy Davis will be so delighted in your poem, too. flylikeaneagle

Thank you flylikeaneagle. We have way too many messy geese up here too. I like my coffee black. I'm working my way over to Sally.

A great photo by you once more, that complements your poem perfectly. Thanks for explaining this form, you know and use them oh so well. It rhymes and meters perfectly. I liked a a Loon has landed on the lake best. And how as a conclusion you drank your coffee in idyllic peace.

Thank you so much Ine, I am pleased that you enjoyed the poem and the picture. I tried to get a picture of the pair of Loons, but they were too far away.

Wow, Tom. This looks and sounds like a slice of heaven! The picture would be enough to soothe the savage heart by itself, but add in the sights and sounds you describe -- and wow! Just... Wow! Thanks for sharing!

An interesting form that works rather well. Not unlike the heroic sonnet in some respects, giving slightly more room for amplification. You have created the early morning campside scene most vividly. A definite sense here of being at peace with oneself and the world.

Dear Tom, Beautiful talent you have my friend both in camera and ink. This rolls off the tongue effortlessly when I read it aloud. As to the style part, can't help much there. But I loved the images you evoke, the sense of eternal beauty you share.
Lovely in every way.
Thanks for sharing.

i love a good sonnet. I love waking up by the lake. This poem puts me in the mood to go camping with my honey and take the camera. As always, I learned something. A new form Septilitan? I like it and I will try it. Thanks again for the treat.
