Of course it's all your fault .... I've been concentrating on the Potlatch and by the time I review and write a poem and then review all the other Potlatch peeps, I've been neglecting those I fan, poets and even more so the writers (including you) as I'm not on here enuff. Thus said, I'm now seeing why I've read your work ever since you joined, though not all as I couldn't possibly keep up with your prolific pace in the first year or so... I do dream about you every night though!! lol
I have to agree, that you ARE the best author in the world ... my world, anyway ... and many others that find that you can be most entertaining, that said I also fin that you do have a lot to say which is educational, heartfelt, philosophical, that includes great social commentary also.. Of course there is no requirement that you be the most exceptional, though, that said, it is often that true. That all being the case, I do AGREE with everything that you've said here, even that bit which I hadn't thought of yet. I just love that cute little freckled-faced kid that appears from time to time on my screen and that cute ever-so-slightly aging, yet still most sexy and attractive face that appears every time I visit your space.
I do want you to know that while you are always considered when I vote, I do read everyone's entry and vote accordingly. I vote for you often and often someone beats you to the mark. I think if you disappeared from FS, I'd CHOKE ON THAT!!!! If I think of disappearing, I think of YOU and read some of your WORK. You keep me sane, that may be just barely, but none-the-less, TRUE!!!!!! Love YOU, Love YOUR WRITING< LOVE THAT YOU WON!!!!!!!!! CONGRATULaTIONS!!!!!!! ..... I wondered why you kept removing them. I thought you were just being gullible and did everything the reviewer suggested. It was the "than's" I was talking about. Far, far too many "than's" in your writings. I figured some other reviewer would set you straight and cautiously advise you to add a "that" here and there, to make your sentences more congruent.
Everything else is just hunky-dory, my friend. If you are not the best writer here, no one can deny you are the most prolific--and I can't think of a more supportive and kind-hearted person on FanStory.

Well... it was pretty obvious from the beginning you were joking, but you do make some excellent points along the way. I guess there is no getting away from the fact that voting contests will, in many instances, draw friends' votes but chances are, they are your friends because they like your writing.
I do think there have been some changes recently in the way these POM's, BOM's and SOM's are selected. It used to have something to do with the ratio of six star reviews to number of total reviews received... which meant sometimes not great works were in the running, just because someone got five reviews and four were six's, but lately it is done differently, so I think it is truly an honor to be nominated, and a BIG honor to win. So... I congratulate you on this impressive accomplishment, and hope you will continue to find yourself in the winner's circle in many, many contests. No one I know would complain about a top-notch writer winning repeatedly. (Incidentally... thanks for reminding me I'm not very popular around here. I've been trying to forget. ;"[ LOL ) I enjoyed reading this very much. You are quite funny sometimes... well, often.

By the way, I have had an editor tell me that she wishes 'that' would be remove from language. To be honest I lost faith in the contests here on FS because I have been notified on private e-mails to vote for certain people so I figure if I was contacted so are other people. I simple stay away from contests.
