This is a lovely verse and picture for this Nonet poem contest.
I too, am over 70 years old, and am slowly learning to sit back and take life as it comes. I think we all appreciate life more as we grow older.
Good luck in the contest ... Annette

Isn't it a shame we don't figure out the joys
of living in the moment sooner, huh?
I've never really prescribed to the idea that
youth is wasted on the young. . .but I have
to admit - as I look back on my life, it was
definitely wasted BY me. So many little
pleasures I was too busy to appreciate!
Nicely done :-)

I think you completed the challenge of the competition well. your words flow nicely line to line then combine and form the message of the poem to the reader. Good luck in the contest.

"As I live now" is so very important! Great way to end your nonet. And since you are talking age, mentioning how fast time flies adds emotion! Good luck in the contest.

Getting up there in age, I have a connection. The expresses perfectly the attitude of older people who realize the meaning of life. I like the occasional rhyme. A fine job.

This nonet, Living It Up, is a great testament to hanging in for the long haul and making all the days count right up tinted last minute. We live once. We need to live that once.

A lovely nonet. I loved the artwork. It looks like a picture of friends who have been through a lot together.
Wise and enjoying the simple acts of friendship as they live in the "now".
Well done.

I enjoyed this nonet, perhaps because I can relate to it as well. The words are so true, now that we are so wise!! Wondering if it should be "simple acts delight (No s)
my senses"...Nicely done and good luck in the contest. Blessings, Carol

Well, I can't argue with that advice at any age. I remember reading, that the past is gone, the future doesn't exist, so the now is all you have. That is what this great poem says to me. Good work.
