What a lovely description of sunlit shadows in a winter's treescape, stretching out their fingers to the catch the first rays of dawn. The art of these short poems is to capture the essence in a microcosm of words, as you have done here.

Wonderful contrast of dark and light plus personification of shadows. Compelling! Love the alliteration of S and consonance of W in all three lines. The word NEW is interesting...gives a metaphorical sense of dawn...transforming night to day. Well done! A strong contender! Good luck!
