No. I don't wish to be a poet. I am driven to it, as I am sure this poet is, also. The poem tells of how and why a person becomes a poet, and lets it come through his work the happiness of writing poetry and being a poet. Good job, Jaybird1. (I had an uncle whose nickname started out Jaybird and morphed to Jay. Not many people even realized his name wasn't Jay.)

What a delightful poetic work! The flow is excellent as is the rhyming scheme. I especially liked the second stanza. Great rhyming with "imagery" and "see." Enjoyed!

I admire your smooth flow of rhyming words that adds a happy feel to your poem. I like the line "we may soar amidst the masters". It makes me feel like I am sitting with some of my favorite poets. Excellent poetic form and use of words.

Yes the magical appeal of writing poetry is only understood by the poet and the words just sing from our hearts and hope they bring joy to others, but essentially we write for ourselves. Inspiration is everywhere, we just need to be aware, wise words, love Dolly x
