Thank you, Bea. That turned out to be a most interesting day. Luckily, no one got hurt. It is hard to handle frightened horses in the best of situations, let alone a parade with people all around you.

Believe me, I understand about horses. Not necessarily from my own experience, but from girlfriends who have them. One also rides in parades in California. Horses are so beautiful, graceful, and powerful. I can imagine you have to be especially careful in crowds. I enjoy reading about them. Marilyn

It was truly One Of Those Days for you. Your piece is very descriptive. You take the reader right out there to the Fourth of July Parade. I enjoyed your explanation about the preparations for the parade. This piece was easy to follow and one could easily imagine the nice shiny horses, your costumes, and the crowds eagerly waiting for the festivities to begin. The anticipation was in the air, regrettably, so was the storm.
You carried me right on to the climax which created that stormy Fourth of July for you. Thanks for sharing a great piece. Have a great day.

It's never a good feeling to get heavy rain at a horse event, because, even after the event, the horses still have to be loaded onto floats for the trip home. very well written, good development on the prompt.

Thank you . You're not too late for the contest they put it ahead to Aug 2 now. I dislike it when they do that. This is the second time fanStory changed the due date on this contest. I know there are other entries because I read them. I don't know why they keep changing it.
