You've identified three cornerstones of social living - love, forgiveness, and thankfulness. They are all things that redound equally upon both the giver and the receiver.

Jay, take a rare sixer from me for this piece - not just for the strong message and the lovely versification, but also for the excellent structure where the three key phrases, 'I'm sorry,' 'thank you,' and 'I love you,' appear both at the beginning of your poem and also with new poignancy because they now apply to your own actions, at the end.

Great stuff. Who would not be moved?

Steve

Hello Jay,
Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to say
and the hardest to express in a poem, too.
Your light touch in this poem is perfect for the message
with excellent meter and rhymes.
Can't say it any better than this poem does.
Very well done
Robert

This is a wonderful reminder to everyone. The beauty of life is that we make mistakes, learn from them and carry on. We forgive others when they make mistakes.
That wonderful lightness of forgiving someone is almost magical.
Saying I love you can bring such joy to others and how simple was that?
Bravo,
I do enjoy your authentic and compassionate views on life, judester

I really enjoy your writing style - there is an sense of voice and personality behind all of your pieces and I feel like you always have a message to share. This one in particular carries a message that I think more people need to hear. The act of apologizing and taking accountability is so important and I feel like our current culture is snuffing it out!

This poem contains a number of wise realizations that I hope many take to heart. I hope those who read this will take the time to say what needs to be said to loved ones while they still can.

That was a beautifully written poem. These words especially are more difficult to say than others. My husband and I have an ongoing battle about actions versus saying what you mean. I would like to hear the words. He says actions speak more loudly than words. Lol. Well, thought out. Great wisdom. Great work. Blessings, MB

This should be required reading for everyone as each day begins--it should be taped to every bathroom mirror and memorized--excellent words of wisdom and love, and a pleasant rhythm to help the heart digest them--as always, a most enjoyable read!

All the Best!

Phil

Beautifully written poem with a very meaningful message. It is important to apologize when we have wronged someone as well as thank people for their efforts, and tell people we love them. Thank you for the reminder to appreciate those in our life.

Sadly, good in theory, not so good in practice. Unfortunately feelings like these are often bottled up a lot more than they should be. Thank you for opening the bottle.
