Excellent descriptions to bring the images of New Orleans Jazz to life. My favorite line is

Flutes with violin sounds flutter in air

It creates such a great sensory image.

A most exceptional oil painting indeed. A very well written poem to go with too. That is a devils playground down there for sure. They need church twenty four seven as the tv tells it. I love this version better.

The use of alliteration to describe some of the sounds adds to the whimsy of the poem that invites the reader to enjoy the music of New Orleans.

I wonder if this fits the "cacophony" theme: a harsh, discordant mixture of sounds.

I guess if these different sounds were performed simultaneous, there would be a discordant mixture.

This cacophony poem, New Orleans, falls a little short, in my opinion, of creating the sound effects that we would expect in a poem that grabs our attention with the onomatopoeia of band sounds. Outside of those nuances, this is a nice poem that takes us to a cool night of blues.

Thank you so much for the excellent review and great comments! Your comments are similar to other comments I received about this poem. Having a son who is a musician in New Orleans I have to say for me the sounds in N. O. are pretty wild, different, and eccentric! I appreciated your honest review of this poem.

Well done, The cacophony of New Orleans jazz is well described here. The free verse flows smoothly. The presentation is very attractive. Good job!

You chose this topic which involve the percussion, brass loud instruments. You organized your details in the three stanzas, to explain how each instrument is played to make the corresponding sound. In the third stanza, you wrote "Church bells ringing in the Square" sound words like ding- dong Church bells ringingl.
Nice illustration to depict the music playing in this piece.

A colorful poem of oddly melodic noise. A beatiful picturesque view of N'arlins Luz'ianer, as one of my friends used to pronounce them. Thank you for sharing. ð???

this is a nice poem but I feel it lacks the harsh, discordant and jarring words for this style poem. A four because I don't believe it fits the style the word usage is to soft, but a good poem otherwise

Music on the streets! What a great job you did with the Cacophony! Have never been there, but have seen plenty of movies. I think you chose your subject matter well.
You used lots of "loud" words--laugh. What funny people poets are, huh?
You use a lot of alliteration, focusing on the "s" sound--that's a good thing.
