Thank you Patricia. For this's good review. My wife's knee is as good as new, can hardly see the scar. We are out walking now as much as possible. It's even helped her back a bit. She is really glad she did it. Although the physical therapy was very hard.

I have no way to visit my mother and
I haven't been back to Illinois since 1975.
She and Dad are there together. More important
they are both in my heart. This is a nice poem Tom.

An Excellent tribute on Mother's day.

A pleasant alternation of rhyme and meter a=iambic heptameter an b=iambic pentameter. This gives a great flow except in S2L2

"and it was wonderful just to say "Hello." " You need to lose "just" or alter wondergul to something with two syllables.

Hmm, you are correct. Looking at my notes, that's exactly how I wrote. I don't know how that "just" snuck in there. Must have been between writing it long hand in my notebook, and typing it up into the computer. Glad you pointed it out.

This was both very timely and very touching. Your visit to vist
your mother sounded like so many other visits of sons and
daughters who make infrequent contact. She listened while you
(the voice) offered opinions. But, then you reveal it was a grave
you visited, and Mother's Day comes into sharp focus. This is a
sad and necessary call which is as much about the visitor as is
about the mother. Well scribed in alternating iambic heptameter and pentameter, this is a very different, and very lovely tribute to mothers everywhere..
