Chrissy, what a lovely tribute to your dad. I am sure he is smiling down on you. I enjoyed this poem, not only due to its free flowing style, good rhyme and rhythm, but the emotion that could be felt as I read it. Thanks for sharing and miles of happy Tassie smiles, Marijke :o)

AWESOME! I feel the glow and warmth of a person dearly missed. Poet believes he or she may be an Eastern Star looking down upon earth. Rhythm is clear and spiritual with an inspirational overtone. liberty justice

Hi Liberty Justice. Thank you for reading my poem for my Dad and your comments are welcomed. Yes the day My Dad died he had a letter to be read to the family when he passed re his last wishes and in it he had written 'that if you go out and look to the East at night you will see my star. ' So that is how I know that he is there at night. He died suddenly while mowing the lawn and had written this letter well before that day. He was also a very spritiual man and wrote the most beautiful poetry . I do miss him, but can feel his presence . Cheers Christine 😃

I could relate so much again as I watch my loved one suffer to catch their breath right here in the hospital. I've been there and he is so smiling from Heaven upon you. This is a wonderful tribute. Wow-ah. Your lines are all glory and love sweety.

Hi Foxiangie123 , Thanks very much for reading my poem and it is always hard to say goodbye, but i know he is always around and evry time we visit the cemetry and look up to the sky the sun ALWAYS comes out even on a cloudy day it will apprear briefly as if it is his sign. So although he is now not here in body He is here in spirit. as you loved on is also. I always put a piece in the paper for him and will do so until I go. Have a lovely day with a smile to you Cheers Christine😀

I'm sorry for your loss. It's so hard to overcome such difficult experiences. I know that after so long your pain must have found some point of acceptance and peace. Good job.

This is absolutely beautiful! I lost my dad 2 years ago April 10th in a motorcycle accident. I know goodbyes are inevitable, that eventually we'll all have to move on to another place...but I wasn't ready for it, nor were you I'm sure. Are we ever able to prepare for that, even if given the time? Somehow I doubt it. I think this is beautiful and I think it's amazing that every year you do that for your Dad. This is a lovely tribute and I truly wish I had a six to offer!! xoLeslie

Hi Leslie, and thank you so very much for your very lovely review and comments re my poem for my Dad and no we were not prepared as Dad died suddenly while moving the lawn, and it was very hard at first especially my Mum. But I am so lucky to have a fabulous supportive family and we are all there for each other. I am the elder statesman now and lead the way in many things. Dad was a great man and we miss him heaps but he left us a lovely legacy of being a caring family. I do this tribute every year and will do so forever. I am sorry to hear of your sudden loss also and just know your dad is also watching over you. With a big hug and Cheers to you. Christinexx

A very loving poetic tribute to your father. I can feel and understand your emotion as I lost my father 19 years ago and at times it seems only yesterday.
