Hello Tom,
This is an interesting form. I'm not sure about the rhyme thing, but that could be my dizziness. lol
Also, that skyway makes me dizzy... yeah, it might be time to take another break. :(
At any rate, you always do a great job, and so... I"m thinking this is another one. It's cool that they've created places for people to walk above the city. I like that idea. You must not get many earthquakes? ;)
Hugs
Cat

Very well done Mate, wish we had skyways here in Tasmania when the bitterly cold winter westerly winds are blowing, no protection from these buggers they just go straight through you. Cheers Kev

I'm not surprised that the skyways were developed in Minnesota and appreciated your sharing a modern one in your photograph. I enjoyed another new form and your addition of rhymes, as well as the rhythmic repeats. Cheers and stay warm- Joan

Hi, Terschel,
":Skyway" is a well crafted poem with good rhyme and rhythm. It follows the form of the tritina well with creative deviations that work. The message that environmental incentives can make exercise less work and more play is good.

Goodness me, Tom, that sounds complicated, yet you have written a poem that is exactly how you tell is the Tritina is written. I haven't even heard of this style before, how do you find them all? You certainly did a good job with this one, and you had no excuse for going out, lol! :) Sandra xxx

Thank you Sandra. I just keep searching the internet sites for new forms. This one is actually a footnote in Wikipedia under Sestinas,

How many different styles have you written now? It must be quite a few. x

It's been awhile since I've seen a Tritina. I first came across it in 2013. Like it's older cousin, the Sestina - it can be a lot of fun, and your poem seems to be just that. It is a good way to get some exercise and see some sights without getting all bundled up. Just a quick dash from the car in the parking lot, and into the skyway that leads to all kinds of interesting things. I know many folks who tell me that their walking forays are through the malls where it's warm - and far less chance of a slip and fall that one would encounter in the bitter winter weather.
Rose.

Thank you Rose. Yes, we do the halls too. But I like the outdoors the best.

I get bored in the malls. I like the outdoors too, where the air is crisp and the communion with nature is rapturous.
Unfortunately, some folk just can do that anymore, so the mall is a safe warm place to stimulate one's heart. Mine needs a kick start every now and then.

This is only the second of these tritinas that I have seen. They are fascinating things and I guess that like the sestina they depend on choosing the right words that work well together. These skyway things are something else we just don't have. We just get wet while "you can walk the pretties in the rain and never wet your feet" and you don't even have to travel to Kansas City to do it. Which musical was that from? I've got a feeling it was an extra for the film version of Oklahoma. I know it wasn't in the stage version, because my parents had the set of 78s from that show, which they saw just after the war ended in London.

Thank you Pantygynt, it was definitely a western. Most likely Oaklahoma, but could have been from Paint Your Wagons, or Blazing Saddles.

Wow! You can actually go for longer walks in those? That's fascinating!
This poem makes me want to go and seek out some skyways! You made it sound so much fun! I've never lived in a town with a lot of skyways...
Tom, you can convey so much zest for life by showing the enjoyment of simple things! I like that about you a lot!

Thank you Jyoti. Many large cities have them now with shops and eating spots along the way.

How fun! The poem, and the skyway walk - what a neat idea. Nice place to stroll when the cold is overwhelming. Interesting form as well.
