It's the weekend, time for all kids to play outside so mom can write. Write lots and take a few days off. You can do it, or you wouldn't have taken on the challenge. Kinda like having three kids that some days drive you nuts but you keep on going. It's almost have way through so charge on and write, even if it is talking them outloud and you get one of your kids to write it down for you. Perfect it later.

Ha. This was funny. Quite enjoyable and I definitely concur with you about more hours in the day. Always needed. Thoughts that we all share in your poem, I am sure.

It's not your best poem, but I think you still made it work well and humor always is a good thing to add. I think this challenge would be very difficult to do!

I read another poem just recently that used this device of a surprise ending for humour. It is most effective. There are one or two limericks that have used it too, such as:
"There was a young poet from Milan
Whose lines would never quite scan
When asked why this was
He said it's because
I always try to fit as many syllables into them as ever I possibly can."
Breaking out from the constraints of either rhythm or rhyme in this way is always good for a laugh!

Hi Debra!
You are doing just great. This was fun. We write what we know, right? :) Whatever comes to mind... or doesn't... for the day. I thought your poem was quite cute. If we happen upon some Pulitzer Prize poetry, that would be fantastic, but the goal is just to celebrate and write :)
I hope you are having fun!

Hahaha. I love zany humour, and this one hits the spot, Debs.
Not much else to say except the last line's timing is perfect.
Oh, the meter is tops, too, as usual - was that a mistake? ;-)
Thanks for the smile.
Cheers, Ray xx

Like I tell my children stop saying your sorry for things you have no control of
As for blanks I'm filled with them it's a norm since my stroke.
I say God making me rest my mind for while.

LOL, nice twist at the end. Time is always an enemy in situations like this. It's good to see a light hearted write amongst your writing. Thank you for sharing and I enjoyed reading.
Bless you

Hahaha! This is so funny! I LOVE the playful closing line and I understand the nature of your laments... I slipped over EST midnight with a few minutes yesterday and today - but within my own time zone, I'm good. I hope I won't get disqualified for that...
Also, don't give up, Dear! I enjoy your little pieces so much!

This is terrific and so amusing, Debra. I really got a kick out of it and I feel the same way. Nevertheless, your fun poem reflects what we may all feel. The artwork is perfect accompaniment. Marilyn
