LOL, if you had not told me those were not lilies in your notes, I wouldn't have known. I was captivated by the wee fairies. Your poem paints a minute picture in time and nature.

Your poem was very enlightening and thought provoking. A 3,4,4 count is difficult at times you did very well if you read furled in one syllable. I'm afraid some people might read it furl-ed.

Thanks for the review.

And even more poetry from a prose writer. You're full of surprises, Bev.
The subject sort of ties in with the Easter season, which was crazy early this year. I like the comparison between nature and religion. (At least that's my interpretation!) The artwork is stunning. You have a knack of enhancing your writing with the perfect art. Nicely done, Miss Bev!

Thanks so much, Marietta
Av mentioned in her review that she thought the flowers in the picture might be an unusual species of lily.
Appreciate it!

Who cares if it's not Lilies, I love this well written poem.
Your few words captures the meaning of spring and flowers wanting to open.
Have a great day and God bless.

Beautiful poem with a very fitting display!
I love the inspirational message and the beautiful imagery of the "furled lily".
This haiku seem to have the satori line as the first line - but it can be also read as one grammatically conned sentence, which in not always accepted in this form.
However, it's so beautiful, it should remain as it is.
Lovely poem!

Thanks so much, lightink. I would have to agree this is not a 'pure' haiku. Probably should have called it in the style of.
I appreciate your kind review.

I like your last line "resurrection", it shows how spring is going to arrive anyways. excellent poetic images created in your 3-4-4 form. Lilies are beautiful flowers and deserve to be in a poem.

Your poem, furled Lilly, fulfills you chosen constraints for this type of poetry perfectly except for its actual use of a Lilly. I did not see the images of the women which relate better to the statement of the poem.

I appreciate your statement that my poem 'fulfills you chosen constraints'. I've honestly never considered knocking off a point on any review - ever - for accompanying artwork, music, etc. An interesting choice.

Your poem really does sum up the feeling of waiting for the Lilly to open knowing its perfect beauty. Perfect style and structure. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem.

Hi - A short piece but it holds truths. Lilies come back from sleep year upon year and as you say, in a very poetic way, are resurrected. Lovely picture - no, not lilies but nice all the same. Warm regards Dorothy x

Hi, Dorothy
Thank you very much for this really nice review. I appreciate your support and encouragement.
I did not know this when I chose the photo, but one of my reviewers said it resembled a type of unusual Lily!
Nice serendipity.

Hi Bev,
This is a great haiku for poetry month. The imagery is strong and the satori line is perfect.
I'd never have known it wasn't a lilly picture. lol

Thanks so much, Karen. Actually, I was told by one reviewer that the flowers pictures are a type of lily. I didn't know that!
I've caught some heck for including a picture with my haiku, which I expected. But I love AvMurray's artwork and couldn't resist.
Have a great week!
Bev
