Burn jello, huh?
I knew individuals that could burn water (heehee)....my mother for one. She hating cooking. Too bad microwaves were not invented yet when I was growing up, I think I may would have ended up with better tasting food than what my mother fixed .

So you tried out for the show Worst Cooks in America and did not make their cut of 14 because you were #20. However, you then tried it with the Worst Bakers in America AND that is the one that you did make their cut and that is the one I will be watching come this October, CORRECT?

My mother hated cooking. No one taught me how to cook. My OMI cooked everything from scratch. She even made home made noodles. I used to watch her. I was much too young that I did not think about writing things down. When I was older, so was my grandmother and her cooking changed for some reason. She started putting green pepper into everything. I am allergic to any Bell Pepper. It literally rips my insides apart. Therefore, I had missed the opportunity to write down what I had wanted to much to learn from her when I was younger. She used to pick off the new growth on pine trees....you know the lighter green pine needles that were tender and soft to the touch...and fill a basket full, come home and make the best homemade honey from it. To this date, I have never found a recipe of any kind. So sad too.

So interesting about the pine needles. Yes, I was suppose to be on Worst cooks but they didn't take me. This year they actually called me up and wanted me to be on Worst Bakers the premiere. That is how I ended up there. I think I was too impatient to learn to cook well. I am very excited to see what it is going to be like. I am a little afraid also. My son fought on TV last night. He won and did a great job. He also is a writer. I will share with you one of his stories too some day.

I loved the art work a lot
We can't be good at everything
At least we try and do our best
Great words written for this poem.

At least you can laugh about it. This is so funny and very well written.
Those kids won't let you forget anything. Mine do the same thing.
Have a great day and God bless.

Bahaha! I can't cook either but thankfully my husband is an amazing cook. I have made supper, this has happened more than once, and it has turned out so bad neither of us wanted to eat it. Thankfully, my husband handles it like a champ and buys McDonalds because sometimes that is better than my cooking. I'm a really good baker, you ever want cookies you just stop over. Great job friend and know you're not alone

thank you so much. The problem with my poem is that it is true and my children had to do without, But they have grown into wonderful human beings that cook.. Survival.

Your artwork and background color completed your poem well. I enjoyed reading your poem. Your choice of words flowed line to line creating their own rhythm and combine to convey the message of the poem to the reader.

Hey there I can't cook either, but I can follow a recipe book just fine and sometimes I did burn eat too. My mom, dad ,sisters and brothers told me to take my time and they also said at less I know the basic in cooking and baking. However cooking other stuff is to heavy for me, so they do the cooking for me and my brother in our special condition. So never give up in cooking I believe that we all can cook and bake we just need some help along the way lots of it! And keep up with the great work and I like the picture too.

Hi Jusylee - This is a good humorous poem. I thought you were just telling a tale till I read your author notes. Unbelievable, burning jello - now I have heard everything LOL. I enjoyed your poem and I would imagine it will take some beating - good luck. Warm regards Dorothy x

Hi jusylee, I really liked this and you had me smile. Poor you not to be able to cook and get it so wrong. I also like your picture to go with it, very fitting. A well composed poem and a good entry. Good luck in the contest. All the best. Ulla:))

Thank you so much. The kicker to this poem is that it is all true, but humor does help us in life.

A nice entry into the humor about food contest. I can feel your pain. I don't cook either. I am blessed to have a husband that does. But I like to eat!
Good luck about the contest!
