I think that I have reviewed your song lyrics before as I do remember your free style lyrics. Nicely done as always and the free style is always best, It does not feel forced.

Hi, I like this, Its in the 'I did her wrong' vein that's heard a million times.
But who cares, he's going to keep doing her wrong for the next few generations I'll bet, and she'll be doing him wrong too, unless they both get enlightenment or something. As Shelley said, poems or songs are always going to be mainly about love and war. The human condition. I find the guillotine a very quirky addition. I bet lots of couples would like to have sent their partner to one at some point or the other. I suppose the song has to be done with the appropriate amount of repentant wailing! But you may want to think about the commas after Girl, So and But. They don't seem entirely necessary, but maybe it will depend on how its sung.
Cheers and all the best
Shana

You might declare that this doesn't rhyme, but you're wrong, it does, and looks deliberately so, with two quatrains the same, well written nice even tempo/cadence, it's structure is very good, the flow continues from start to finish, most entertaining with some proximates in the work, well done, blessings, Roy

The poem and the image work well-together The song lyrics have a high degree of originality and avoid slipping into cliche. The imagery is very well chosen and highly effective. In particular the line, 'A broken down record with nothing to show' is very evocative. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Brett. Good to see you back. I haven't seen you around much lately. Well here we have another piece of good old C & W with a familiar theme, he's doing her wrong but somehow they keep on and he seems to be getting the best of both worlds for the moment at least.

Well done on the lyrics, Brett. In my experience, unreturned love destroys the love. Anyone holding a torch for someone why is uninterested is either a dmned fool or gets over it post haste.

Solid piece of work here, either could be stand alone for lyrics or a poem. I am certain the message plays out time and time again across the universe.

I don't believe I have ever seen a guillotine before - looks like a museum exhibit, and a nice piece of work to offer with your song. You have composed a neat version of the old three cornered romantic mess, complete with a confession of past sins and awareness of those to come. Good work.

I liked your lyrics, and the text did not appear to be all that "free style." At least, most of it wasn't (for whatever value that's worth). I guess your art work selection is appropriate for your song. It makes me appreciate my recliner sooooo much more!
