When I first read this, I didn't understand it at all. Now I do. You really are angry, and rightfully so, Michael. It's good to get those feelings out, they can destroy you locked inside. I hope soon you will be able to write a nice one again. Love you, Micheal. xx Sandy.

I am giving four stars only because my rating does not count. Your writing , as usual is unique and well-written. Obviously, you were angry when you wrote this. You refer to Gauguin who cultivated two persona: One as that of a wild man and the other a sensitive artist. Neither were true representations of his identity. Is it possible that you are seeing the mask of the woman you denigrate? Both author and song refer to her using a double standard for men and women. The singer puts her down for wanting to be in control of herself. Why shouldn't she be? He says she acts like a man because she desires the act of love. Why is this a male prerogative? Are we stating that women are not allowed the full range of expression? The opening animation makes me sad. You have 108 views and three responses. Clearly, you did not intend to have 108 reviews. In closing, I think that your quirky poems are some of the best writing on the site. I wish I could hear more of Magdalene and similar poems. Not trying to tell you how/what to write. Just expressing a preference. Peace..Michael. Nika

Your animated illustrations are always so eye catching, along with your references--in this case Gauguin. Your alliteration of "g's, c's and p's" added to the intensity of this piece. Cheers- Joan

Why thank you Joan ...I shop upscale.
yes yes Gaugin apparently had some fetishes and what not...rather sick-o in private affair they say. I didn't know that before I wrote this but we live and learn....and hope to survive the encounter. However, in the end...it always kills ya. love michael
