Hi Geoffrey! LoL! I had a bath redone once by someone that was very unprofessional. We paid out the nose and the tiles fell apart anyway! I wish you luck with your project and contest too! :) Nice to see you here. Susan

I feel your frustration, having been there myself during
renovation projects. It does require a lot of patience
on everyone's part, but in your case your wife is disabled.
I hope everything is okay now. It's important for us to be
able to share our frustrations. Marilyn

Thanks Marilyn. Sorry no rewards left. Appreciate your great review. I said to my wife just this morning we have almost forgotten about all the dramas and seems like we never had them, now hehe. Thanks.

By the way, did you write a poem for this Picture This post? Marilyn

He was blessed to have customers who could be flexible, The story reminds me of my father's experience of renovating a hundred year old house. Every project he started held a surprise that required more work than he anticipated. I learned patience watching him.

Thanks Sis. Actually we were very patient. It inconvenienced Louise greatly, and the delays were even more of an inconvenience. I have not talked about the temporary measures we had to take for her toileting etc. Technically these people should have done this repair free of charge as it was their fault it had the leak in the first place after they built the whole bathroom (was our third bedroom 10 years ago.)

The repair man made some mistakes and got the measurements incorrect. He came back and made it right. He was real patient and curious and did a fair job. liberty justice

Hey NO! The repair man did NOT make it right! The tiler compensated in the pre-tiling preparation. Then the same thing happened at another job he had nothing to do with the people who made the boo boo on ours. Thanks for coming by.

Yes, it can be trying. I know. Especially, cutting a board too short or misjudge a distance. Yep, prayer for peace comes in handy. LOL. Good one Bro.

It is hard to get some one who knows his job he claimed to be an expert of. They mostly just take the job for the money and don't care about how they do the job.

Thanks Sandra. You are right about that. I just thought it was so funny the tiler copped two of the same thing on the one day and the other job was not done by the same people that did ours. ha.

HI Geoff ...

So many horror stories about renovations gone wrong! And this is a perfect example. It is, indeed, so easy to lose patience ... particularly given the circumstances of your wife's impediments.

Your lines created good imagery and allowed the reader to "see" what was going on. Not easy to do, but you did a real nice jon with it.

Best to you and Louise ...

Alan

I know that the constraints on so-called free-verse are essentially non existent, but this one is a reason to write "essentially" before "non existent". I am incapable of accepting this series of couplets + a one-line satori as poetry.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Ah well I guess I have to have a critic come along every now and then thanks. As usual I don't expect to win anything. I am not one of the chosen few of the FS family.
