That's a funny thing isn't it. I guess none of us can write about a dandelion without thinking of Brooke. Yes, I thought about her too even though it has nothing to do with her. :))
Wow. You have it exactly right! YAY!
Thanks a million Queen of Sweetness Mountain. :)) xxooxx mike

Hi Michael,

See, now this should have been an entry in the 'Shades of Blue' contest. It is exquisite in presentation and stark in the baring of the soul. Perhaps it is metaphor... look how the words travel down the page... in each section, it is almost as if it should form a complete heart. Each being one piece, but scattered, as it is lost to the moment that would not stay, which you strive ever to get back again.

That means to say, I liked it :) Excellent presentation.

Kim

I was going to enter it. Ha! But I would have been too irritated if it ended up in last place, so I wrote something else for that.
Wow. You have made writing it so worthwhile to me. I LOVE your analysis and you are on the money as to what I was hoping to get across. Big smiles. Thanks so much. mike

Marvelous work with this. I felt it was a story of youth growing into adulthood using love as his stepping stones. Beautiful work. I enjoyed this immensely.

This is just exquisite. I see this as a progression of one goes through adolescence chasing the girls and they just float away like a dandelion would, progress til you get to the roses and I have to say, to me, this was quite erotic

a rose screaming read dripping with dew upon my tongue yes yes then another

Okay well anyway you see where my mind tends to go. LOL but then there is sadness and the shades of blue come into play. That last red rose left one with a deep shade of blue.

Excellent pen. That's what I took from this incredible writing.

You are so perceptive and it just delights me. Yes on all accounts. I try to be subtle but not leave too much doubt. You have it all exactly on the money. Thanks so very much. It's wonderful to be understood and this poem means a lot to me. All the stars don't hurt either. :)) Smiles, mike

I seldom understand what any poetry really means or what the poet is trying to say or express. I just sort of figure out what the words mean to me or what I think the writer is saying, and either way, there are a few like you who put me to thinking. Great job. :-)

I can't ask for more and I don't. I like nothing more than to hear it made you think or affected you in some way. Thanks a lot. mike

This is another one of yours that works on me subliminally. That way it has a meaning, but it is meaning I cannot describe. I just let the words wash over me... but I have said all that before I am sure.

These poems are frustrating and fulfilling at the same time. I feel as if I have enjoyed a beautiful meal...

But I'll be damned I can tell you what was on the menu.

Love your take and that's what I would hope for on most free verse poems. That's how I write them for the most part. I had how we perceive love from an early age to a later one in mind. Finally how we always seek a perfect love and that it can be found if we are open to it.
    Thanks so much. mike

Wow, Mikey, that was just so beautiful! Everything about it was just beautiful. The words themselves, the internal, external rhyme, the subtle rhythm, the emotion, the romance, everything was there, just, wow, beautiful. You really a romantic man, poetically perfect for such emotions. Lovely. :) Sandra xx

Gee, Sandra, I'm just beside myself that you liked this so much. It's one that meant a lot to me as the perfect blue at the end is a very specific thing or someone to me. Yeah, when I'm not being silly, I'm probably crazy romantic. Never a middle ground. Thanks so much. mike

Where has my Michael gone?
Another nicely told romantic piece so soft and gentle.
Love the words you used to convey passion.
Very good

Deep and beautiful! Free verse is not an easy thing to write, but you have done a wonderful job here with this poem. Great visuals created for your reader, as well as some deep thoughts to ponder. Fave lines:
"and the whispers reached me
but just echoes
of a promise" ... and ...

"they play
they teach
they seem to reach".

The way in which you have split your words up on the written page (in particular at the end of your poem) creates great impact ... clever!. This adds greatly to the delivery of a fine write to your reader. Well done!
