I read your review on my poem and decided to come and read this before I replied. I had never really understood until reading your piece, how Jesus was really explaining the Old Testament to us in many of His teachings. The knowledge that a stairway to Heaven truly exists, is goose-pimply wonderful. I really enjoyed reading this story about Nathaniel. The whole piece was exceptional, and I am only sorry I haven't a 6 to award it. :) Sandra xx

Thank you very much for reading and commenting. I hope I made it clear that the stairway is really a person, Jesus Himself. He also calls himself "the door". so the door and the stairway metaphorically point to faith in Christ as the true way to Heaven. Again, the scriptures indicate that there is only one go between for God and man....one "mediator". Christ is both God and perfect man combined and is the representation of what God is like. In addition, He voluntarily allowed himself to be sacrificed for our sins. He paid the debt we accrued by our sin to the holiness of God. So Divine justice was satisfied, once and for all. We can now forever believe our sin is paid for, never fear death and Hell, while fully anticipating God's glorious Heaven because Jesus loved us and saved us. God bless you, Dennis

Yes, you did. Which makes the whole idea of the Stairway to Heaven even more incredible, and so special. To think it is actually Jesus who is the stairway, I always knew He was the door, but not the stairway. Thank you, my friend. Your story is one I will always remember. xx

I love the story of Nathaniel. One of my grandson's name is Nathaniel so that makes it even more special. Thank you for more fully telling the story and explaining the scriptures in an understandable way.

Well done Dennis and thank you

Janet

Thank you for this wonderful work. Christ truly does unlock scripture. One of my favorite scriptures is John 5:39 which says 'You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me.'

I love how you bring out 'What can we learn from this episode? The Bible is spiritually alive, written from the heart of the Holy Spirit. He is zealous for us to understand His Word though our Mediator/Savior, Jesus Christ.' (I didn't catch it when reading it, but when spell checking my comment it picked up an extra 'the' in your 'written from the heart')

I thought I was a student of the Bible for many years, but I was misled by a different Bible, that taught a different Jesus, and it wasn't until I found Jesus that the scriptures truly came alive for me and I knew I found the real life and truth and way in God's Word ... Jesus.

Brother Dennis,
I learn something from you jus about every time you wrie a message. For instance:"...the ladder Jacob saw in his dream (Genesis 28:10-17) actually represented Jesus Christ, who is the one mediator between man and God!" (1 Timothy 2:5)

I have always puzzled about that ladder going to heaven and dismissed it as the way unsaved people think about how
they are going to get to heaven by their own means and methods.

I have written on the margin of my Bible I Tim.2:5, but the fact that the ladder was a type of Jesus, just escaped my mind.

I guess it's true "You can teach old dogs new tricks"

God bless you on every leaning side,
Your loving Brother
Jerry

Thanks Brother Jerry! Wonder what other wonders the Lord has to show us in His inexhaustible Word? Let's keep on digging in the gold mine to bring up new treasures to add to our old treasures.... Matthew 13:51-52 New International Version (NIV)

51 ?Have you understood all these things?? Jesus asked.

    ?Yes,? they replied.

52 He said to them, ?Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.? Blessings, brother, Dennis

I am in trouble here with Dean K. He claimed to be a Christian and I rebuked him with the Word, allowing him to understand not to fellowship darkness or lift up such. He accused me of judging Him, but I told him it is the Word that judges him and me. John cautioned if we fellowship darkness and say we are children of light then we are liars. Not sure he like that. However, he did promise to pray for me. I can always use prayer. LOL.

Yes, I believe Dean has dropped me as well. I suggested a book by Unger: "What Demons Can Do to Christians". He hasn't reviewed any of my Christian postings since, even though he often praised them in the past. A very confused believer, I would say. 2 Peter 1:9 (But whoever does not have them (evidences of Christian growth) is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins."
Such a person is not lost, but their spiritual life has been derailed by not "seeing" Christ and forgetting what Christ did for them. Sad...let's pray for Dean. God bless, Dennis

I've always been mindful of Jesus' words "My sheep hear my voice, and the know me, and I know them.." John 10:27. And that everyone who believes, can hear his, it may be devotional, quiet prayer, a teacher or writing like you and I do, I'm amazed at things that flow from the pen, that I never thought of, I write first and then to my wonder it connects with scripture, and the impartation is the seasonal word of God, and I'm sure that you feel that way too dear brother, well done Dennis, you are listening to the one who guides all who'll listen for His voice! Blessings, Roy
