I wanted to respond to this much earlier....
Depression is quite a beast and I hope you keep fighting back! Of course, that's exactly what depression likes to take away, our ability and motivation to fight back... However your poem showed quite some commitment to just keep going on and writing - until the storm ends!
I have a lot of appreciation for the resiliency coming through those lines. In fact, it seemed like you were doing what you said - writing until you find hope!
Sending caring thoughts,
J

Hey! Free style from the form meister! I loved this and as one of so many who don't make it to the glitterati I can identify with it as I think most us will. Higher up the listings this I am sure would do very well.

Thank you Pantygynt, I am sure of it. For Sonnet 7 they wanted a certificate and 6 pumps. I used $25 out of my bank account. That amount got me a $9.95 certificate and 5 each $2.95 pumps. Couldn't cover 6 pumps. That got me to a 57cent level. Gosh. How much does it cost to get to $1? How many pumps does it take? How can people afford to post 2 per day and spend that kind of money?

I think they have to be spending their own money, but some like Cat have just so many fans she has a job to keep up she sent me a screen shot of her computer the other day - well over 200 reviews outstanding. When I posted that funny one about reviewing, several other people assisted it into second place, I wanted it to be alongside Glorias. To answer your question about $70+ to go from scratch to #1. I don't do it very often. If you have a reasonable fan base p2 is adequate Cat rarely post on p1 and she's the #1 poet at the moment but she does post a steady 2 aday - amazing.

6 STARS MY dear Poet. Writer is saying how depressed he is because hisbranking is slipping dropping. Don't worry fellow poet, because you will rebound and your words will live again. I've experienced a fluctuation in rankings
and I never win contests so you are not alone. liberty justice

Thank you Liberty. Good to know when you're not alone. I really appreciate the 6, you brightened my day.
Don't worry dear fan friend.

That's the spirit. Tallyhoo!
I rarely receive
6 STARS. Tell me where
you get your lovely
artwork?

Hi Liberty, most of my artwork is of photographs

Hi Liberty, most of my artwork is of photographs that I have taken myself. As is the case in this one.

You are a good poet. People are idiots if they don't buy your books. As for ratings... well some reviewers on here are not playing the game. Tom needs to sort out the problem before he doesn't have a website at all. Thank you for sharing.

After a couple of years on Fanstory I know what you mean, I sometimes drift downward, but more prolific in writing, I find a lot iPod inspiration here, but the doubts sometimes pervade, but then i'm reminded....?!? Well done, this is an inspired work, the thought that you wouldn't be here for awhile doesn't augers well for me, you've been here probably before me, I would miss you, great work here, good creative thought, though downbeat, very human, well done, blessings, Roy

Hi Tom, a very poignant yet beautiful free verse poem about the depression that you sometimes suffer, your word more than cover the problem and convey to the reader what it is like to suffer from it, I hope you pick up my friend, you are a very talented poet and we need your terrific work on here.

I know the feeling you are describing and I only hope that for you this is just a temporary blip on the radar. Although it is not easy, you have to put such thoughts to one side and not compare your fortune to others. What makes me most upset is seeing someone you know is an inferior author, bragging about theeir publishing successes...
Your choice of format complements the message of the poem well, spiralling down the page like the depression you describe.
Chin up!

Now THIS is what I'm talking about.
Amazing. What I think (not that anyone cares)
But what I think, is that inside Tom is a free verse poet
DYING to get out. ;)
This is amazing. I only wish I had a six to award it.
Instead, I'll promote it.
Well done Tom... this rocks the Catzbah. ;)
I love it!
(and I haven't forgotten your book... I just haven't taken the time out to ask you about it yet) my bad.
;)
you're still loved, hugs

Thank you Cat, you can always make a frown turn upside down, can't you?

Yes. Even if I have to turn YOU upside down to do it. ;)

I admired your title and photograph to establish the mood. We probably all need a break! I liked your rhymes, echoing sounds, and exclamations that added intensity to this free style. Yes, do write until you're no longer "blue". And remember, it's too early in the year for the ratings on FS to be meaningful. Hugs and have a serene weekend- Joan
