I liked this a lot and especially the metaphor of the feather like in the old fashion pens. We've got five cats, so that helps a lot. Well done and keep at it. All the best. Ulla

Well, it's often said that inspiration can come from the most unlikely of places, Bill. For cats, it may be something as simple as a feather. For us, the possibilities can be a bit more involved and a little more intricate--or not.

Wherever or whatever inspires us to writ, the main thing is that we simply do so, everyday...write, I mean.

    Thank you, Dean, for reviewing. I was writing yesterday, and during that time managed to wash six loads of clothes, snowplow the driveway, vacuum the main floor, take down the Christmas lights outside, and write this 31 syllabled poem. Bill

There are days just like you describe. You capture the emotion so well. I want to write, but don't know what to write, and anything can be a distraction--or maybe an inspiration. Looks like you got the inspiration. I love the picture to enhance the verse.

HAAA. This is hilarious, Bill. I'll be laughing about it for a few minutes here.

Sounds like this little kitty cat's mind works along the same lines as mine in deep thoughts.

You know what they say, inspiration is everywhere when you write on demand, sometimes it's the feather on the end of your quill.

Most entertaining tanka.

Sounds like you have a front row seat into my mindworks when my mind doesn't work. That feather, or who's online, yeah, that can be very mesmerizing. Been there done that.

Hi Bill;
-the picture of the cat looking at the feather on the quill pen in correlation with your writing of which the cat is mesmerized by the feather of the quill pen is quite convincingly adequate for understanding your writing. Very clever and witty of you.
-As stated above your imagery is quite expressive and vividly descriptive.
-The picture is very adequate and relative to your conceptual theme.
-Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always Bill.

I enjoyed looking at the picture of the cat pondering what to write. I think I have been there and done that. However, I don't remember using a quill pen. I did use a pen we had to dip in the ink well--that was long ago. Your poem reflects many writers try for the right start. Very well done.

Oh, the dreaded writer's block. When you force yourself to get one sentence onto the page in the hope that more will follow, and all you do is look at you pen after that.
Well expressed with a cute picture. :)

That was one smart kitty cat. It seems as if his mind goes in circles like mine does at times. This was one confused little cat. Hugs, Teri

When the pressure is on to deliver a good story, the mind wanders somewhere else. Right down a sentence the mind wanders off again and the page stays blank.
