A very strong Diamanté poem with a lovely transition from despair to hope in these well crafted seven lines that float like a cloud of redemption. Touching. Spoken like from one who knows. I know you do. Write on! Right on!

You're awesome man. I literally have only been on once to post that. So I'm back now and getting back to it. Yours was the first review I saw! You're the best!

Thank you so much again. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get back. It's been crazy, but fun, with the baby! Truly have a great day.

Nice job on this diamanté.
I love the middle line where respite leads to illumination, and proactive actions then lead to determination and hope.
Nicely done!
The photo is perfect for the poem,
Carol

New to poetry and all its styles and structures, I'm forced to trust my ears and eyes to find what touches me. Great job, and good luck. :-)

What a crazy-making form! Now you've piqued my interest and I MAY have to try one, if I can ever crawl out of the black hole of internet hell in Brisbane! GRRR!
Found the word 'respite' to be a bit of an odd one, but I don't think I understand the rules completely!
Good luck, Mystery Writer!

You're the best. How are you. I had a bad cold, was away for a few weeks it seems. I got second place in this. Pretty cool. It would be fun to win one. But honestly I saw this the day before the deadline. I wrote it at the airport in about five minutes. Just to get the creative juices flowing. Funny that it placed, when I put so much hope into others haha.

    How are you?

Gregory Cody,

This is an excellent entry for the Diamante contest. I especially liked "wrenching", "muddled" and "paranoid" ... they aptly convey despair to the reader.

Great picture to accompany your write as well.

Best wishes for the contest!

No need for apologies! You have your hands full. :)

Congrats on the baby, Gregory Cody! How wonderful! Although you're probably sleep-deprived, enjoy every minute of being a father (it actually goes by way too fast. Before you know it your baby will be in school, then married, and then you'll be a grandfather ... yikes!)

Hello Cody!

Wonderful diamante poem about hope and dispair. Well chosen words to define them. The presentation is stunning.

A couple things to consider. The description over the title has a typo, it is suppose to be Diamante not Diamonte. Also, in order to be shaped like a diamond, the letters should be centered.

Good job!
Gypsy

Well hello there... I've been thinking of you lately and wondering how the heck you are... I was a bit worried when I started reading this... and then it ends on such lovely note... (I was thinking, at least he didn't write it the other way around...) It could have gone the other way! right?

I love your word choices! And that artwork is inspiring in itself... wow! How I'd love to be up there writing, photographing, drawing... meditating...

amazing...

I hope you are well? I think about you often and wonder about that... It's been crazy about here... my son left for California... my daughter was in a car crash yesterday on her way to the doctor for a dance injury... luckily it happened outside the doctor's office... but she's ok except that she's out of dance for at least two weeks.. (not from the crash, but from the original injury) luckily everyone from the crash is fine...
anyway... yeah... laid back but crazy life, how is that possible?

how is your wife's blog?

and how are you and little babe doing? ;)

Hugs to you
Cat

Truly thank you. Let's talk about my doctor appointments sometime?

I'm happy to... Yea, I was just responding to the other reply...

Vitamin D3 was one of the tests I said to have done... it's a big for low mood... I suffer from it also.

I'll check my email. I'm happy to talk to you about it.
    (((((hugs))))
and congrats on this win. Same thing happened to me with my last committee one... the antonym... I was like, really? ;)
It's cool. Sometimes those work out best! ;)

Your chosen emotions are excellently described and brought together in the realization that there's always hope. You found the perfect words to make this form shine. May I suggest you do as the rules say and center the poem so the diamond form will make this presentation as it should be...a diamand shape? Best wishes in the contest, Greg.
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

I'm glad you centered the poem as it should be...I bet it helped you to earn that 2nd place ribbon. Congratulations.
