Hello there. I know it's of little help, but please let your wife know she's not alone. I am suffering similar problems and on top of it all this debilitating fatigue that will NOT go away. I can barely walk things hurt so bad and am so weak it feels like I'm drunk when I try to move. This poem is sad because it's all too real. I send best wishes for your wife to feel better soon. It's all we can do. Hope. Hang in there...Susan

I haven't been reviewing much and missed this when it was posted. I'm reading it now as a poem of the month nomination - congrats on that.

This expresses so deeply the love you share with your wife. the hurt you feel in her pain. It is exactly how me and my soulmate are.

I just had to review this now and give it a six!

Hi, Treischel,
I emphasize with your helplessness if face of your mate's pain. I feel just as helpless to help with my wife's psychic pain due to the ravages of a stroke and minhers disease. Your poem brought home the reality of your wife's pain. I totally sympathize with her. The form is excellent for the theme and you mastery of it is good. The rhyme is good.
Your friend and colleague,
Preston

Such a compassionate write , my friend. My whole heart and wishes with Karen and yourself. Keep strong with love and affection, for you are a man with feel that so much reflects in your poetry.
Sometimes we cease to understand nature and we so do, the human anatomy.
My thoughts with you, my friend. Good form, and well done with Cat's creation for you are indeed the master of structures.
Shave a great day...best wishes to, Karen

My positive thoughts are with your wife for her upcoming knee surgery. I have peripheral neuropathy and sciatica and can certainly empathize. Thanks for sharing another new form, along with Karen's photograph. I admired your rhymes, repeating line and modified repeating line. Your "aura of green" adds to the intensity of your verse. Best wishes- Joan

Hello :)

Nice job with your LiriCat. I wrote one too. They are so much fun. I like your poem, it is heartfelt and honest. I must be hard to see your wife having pain and not be able to take it away. But being there for her is great help. I know she must appreciate you. Beautiful poem with well chosen words a good liricat format.
Good job, I hope your wife's operation goes well.

An impressive new style indeed and a perfect showcase for this poem.
The repeating line adds depth to the suffering of chronic pain and allows the previous line to show the various effects of such pain.
I sympathise with you both and hope this new surgery will provide some relief.
:-) Shirley

It is difficult to watch a loved one suffer with chronic pain. Your words capture feelings and emotions as you describe the pain your wife goes through. I like how you use the color green to represent her pain, it makes your words more vivid to the reader. I wish her well with her knee surgery.

What an awesome poem, it is heart wrenching to read, but so full of love and honesty. My mother suffered terribly for years and the last eight years were so bad she became bed ridden. Sometime she would call just to cry. I lived across the country from her, and it broke my heart, to listen to her, sobbing at the other end. The only comfort I could offer was a listening ear and my prayers. I felt helpless, guilty for not being there, and saddened. I sometimes asked God, why he felt the need to make her suffer. She was a good person, who had dedicated her life to him. but even through her suffering she stayed steadfast in her belief in him. It seemed the more she suffered the stronger her faith grew. We all learned from her, maybe that was the reason behind it all, I don't know. But it has made me a stronger person, and four years ago when I was diagnosed with MS, I took it in stride. I believe it has a lot to do with my mom and her struggles. She stayed strong until the end, and so will I.

I will add your wife to my prayer list, and I hope the surgery works.

Tom,

Not only do I like this poetry format, but I appreciate the way you've used it to gradually tell a story, expanding on the theme in each stanza. Great job - and I'm sooo sorry about your wife!
