Sounds like a fun cruise, Tom. It's been a beautiful autumn in Michigan and seems the same is true in your neck of the woods.
I enjoyed this poem a great deal. Super rhyming and great rhythm. It's fun to read out loud. Well done!

Hi, Treischel,
You have brilliantly resurrected another French medieval poem. It is apparent why this form has stood the test of time with its magnetic rhythm and short emphatic lines. Your rhyme and rhyme scheme are excellent. Your figurative language is colorful (nature's tapestry) Thanks for the read,
Your friend and colleague,
Preston

Thank you very much Preston. I actually sang it to my wife, and it worked. I am very pleased that you liked it as well.

The way the rhyme carries over from one stanza to the next gives poem a hypnotic quality as if it could roll on forever - a bit like the river really.
This is superlative matching of form to content. And is worth a virtual six but mine have gone early this week.
I'm sorry the autumn colours didn't work for you but this must compensate.

Good poetry and a very awesome experience to ride on the boat. It is definitely a poetic theme and you did it well. Awesome photo of an awesome boat.

Very well done. I will admit that I am not one to be on a boat but the river must have been amazing. I am sure you will keep those moments.

Hey--you were reading my mind--I wanted to know more about the Mississippi River cruise! To wander "lazily" and enjoy "Nature's tapestry sounds very appealing. I enjoyed the long and short lines and your rhymes. More cheers- Joan

Treischel, to take a luncheon river cruise can be so wonderful. A friend and I too on the Cumberland River and the entertainment was wonderful. The evening before we had taken the dinner cruise and the difference between the daylight and the night time cruise was striking.
