I enjoyed your poem. The artwork is perfect for your well chosen words. Good use of rhyme that keeps the poem moving at a good pace. You expressed your feelings well.

The world would be a much better place for all if those in charge would heed the message in your poem. Good job.

[Sorry this is a bit late--I just found it. I joined the picture challenge group that you are a member].

Thanks for sharing.

Freedom is the oxygen of the soul...what an awesome quote..because it is so human to fight to breathe...it is something we don't realize we need ...like air ...until it is gone
Great thoughts expressed
Well done
God bless

Thank you, Jenny. I appreciate your fine review of this poem, which I consider important (to me anyway and to those who realize what is happening in the world now). Marilyn

How true, Marilyn. We have to remain vigilant or other forces will take over. Our way of government is a precious thing and since we have grown up with it, we take it for granted. I don't think most Americans realize just how lucky we are. Live overseas for a while and it makes you appreciate what a marvelous land this is.

Marilyn

Your simple, yet to the point poem, FREEDOM, in my estimation warrants BILLBOARD BILLING AROUND WOLRD.

"When more is demanded than we desire to give,
we're deprived of the liberty required to live.
Keeping silent allows stifling despots to bring,
oppressive ideologies to which they cling.

While chafing at restraints of the burdensome noose,
it necessitates the bonds be severed and loosed.
Sovereign nations that yearn to fly high and free
refuse to accept autocratic tyranny"

i JUST HAD TO READ IT AGAIN

THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT, AND GOD BLESS YOU.
Nan:))

Hi Nan. Thank you for reading this poem, which I personally consider an important piece. It wasn't accepted as such, I don't think based on the reviews. I do appreciate you taking the time to read it now that it's not promoted any longer. We are in some very deep trouble. People have to wake up and realize what we have had is nearly gone and we must pay attention. Hugs, Marilyn

Any prose that fights for freedom is worth five stars, unless it is sloppily written, and northing that you write is done sloppy. I am proud to be an American, and I delight in any other system that values freedom. Well written, and thought provoking . . .

Marilyn,
Absolutely correct!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Freedom while it isn't free and it comes at a high price it must still be. Yes, it is the oxygen of life. This is perfect writing. Kudos on a job well done.

Thank you, Darlene. With all that's going on/not going on in our country we MUST speak up. Silence isn't an option as we are on the road to total destruction. Thank you for your support. People either loved or hated this post. Marilyn

Today's world is facing many threats to freedom. The wars in the Middle East appear to be escalating with Russia's military intervention and the Kohmeini still preaching hate and no cooperation to USA.

FIne patriotic statement in verse, Marilyn.

You're absolutely right, Marilyn, and you've stated your case wonderfully here. No one actually likes a tyrant. They only tolerate them out of fear, not respect. There is very little the American fear when it comes to defending our God given right to be free. If any nation thinks otherwise simply because of our current administration, they'd be in for a very rude awakening if they attempted something.

Our colors do not now, and never will, run.

Very nicely done, Marilyn!

Hi Dean, thank you for your fine and astute review. Actually this poem is directed square at Obama. He's the despot. Pray that we get someone who loves God and America in the WH in the coming election. This one doesn't. His sympathies lie elsewhere. Marilyn

I pray for that very thing and our nation every day, Marilyn. After all, I once fought to defend her...

Maybe, I pray, the yo-yo's will wake up and realize we need a patriot for a president.

Maybe. We can only continue to pray and hope. And then, pray some more...

A deep poem that says a lot. Nations always need to be vigilant, it is the way of the world that there will always be some power hungry despot waiting in the wings. Well observed.

Thank you for reminding us of Dyan's powerful quote plus the need to be vigilant. Your reflections resonated and were intensified by your rhymes and the alliteration of "b's" and "n's" in the second stanza. Cheers and happy Sunday- Joan

Thank you, Joan, for your supportive review. A topic like this creates much controversy (which I expected). Readers either love it or hate it. I guess it depends what side of the fence they're on. Marilyn
