This poem celebrates your love of your Baja and of the open country road.
The wind on your face and the yellow autumn leaves fluttering around must have been enjoyable. Well done, Tom

My pleasure. I've lagged behind with reviews, but I'm making my way through them as I'm not working this morning.

Hi Treishel, Haven't reviewed your work in a while..Nice sharing of your experience with the scooter..Endless roads that lead everywhere. yes, I imagine that there were paths that you didn't realize were there. Did you have to wear a helmet? Cheers!

Now that's a snappy looking scooter, and has fun written all over it. Glad you hopped back on for a ride. Your poem captures the carefree spirit you must feel when riding. Well done, Tom.

this is an excellent write, treischel, I am so jealous. I want a scooter so bad, it would be great to just hop on and ride the roads around here or to ride it to church and back.

Yes, the bike is a bit like a boat in that it has the poer instanly to create a feeling of freedom. I haven't ridden one since I passed forty, after contracting a nast case of epididemitis from getting cold and wet in the groin after a long, damp ride from Devonshire to my then home in Kent. Of course the wind in the hair thing has been denied to British riders for as long as I can remember since the law requires us to wear crash helmets.
The Rispetto and the Heroic Rispetto both are extremely tidy little forms to read and very satisfying being, as you say, a complete poem in just eight lines.

I can't believe that you let that sit for two years. I don't have a bike but I have a convertible and it takes me away, even for a short time from so much that can bring one down in life.

Excellent photo of your bike that complements your poem perfectly. In this Rispetto you tell us you have it back on the road again, You felt great riding it again on the open road. Thanks for sharing.

I can relate!!!!!!! I have no bike and there is not very much in the way of fall foliage here in south central Texas for an east coast man like me. However, I do get in the truck and drive as deeply as I can into the countryside (especially roads I have never traveled) just to be able to get a different perspective.
Well, done.
