The free verse style is loaded with raw emotions, righteous and conviction from a point of view rarely written from. This is a classic country song that claws its way to the core of the mess love can be.

Hello :)

This is a very well written poem of a real situation for many of us. I am like you, I prefer free verse. I don't like constricting rules of rhyme.

I Love free style and I love this poem. I also write allot in this style. The story is great and all the words fit to tell it. Written from a different point of view. Thank you for sharing,

This reads like a country song with it's ability to strip emotions down to their core with phrases like "So, I stood back and let her walk away
Cause I knew she'd be back in just another day"

It's very honest in its description of the relationship between the narrator/other man and the woman. The story line and emotions expressed seem realistic and relate-able.

The notes about the rhyme scheme make sense--there's enough of a rhyme to make the "story" memorable--but the story is not "forced" to fit a rhyme in.

I'm trying to figure out why you have a picture of this nice looking horse with your poem. It is a handsome animal though.
It is interesting to "feel" things from the viewpoint of the other man. My husband's first wife left him for the other man. So, while that guy seems like a jerk from an exterior view, there's always more to the story.
I agree that at times you do have to step up to the plate. Many of us have been down there on the floor, feeling that pain, and maybe that's what gets us up to the plate. Well done.

Fantastic work Brett. No anger or bitterness just a few home truths.

So many women stay in bad situations with no way out. This to me is not just about the other man, but also the better one.

Thanks for sharing

It really hurts when someone is the other man especially when someone puts so much of wfforts. Great poetry and surely deserves a 6

Bravo for your presentation with wordcrafting, I can see an attempt to offer 'resolution tips' for relationship in comatose. 'It takes two to tango' and faithfulness is of two folds. I love your flowing muse.

G'day Brett. Sorry I haven't been around much of late mate. I've been battling this useless internet that won't stay connected for more than two minutes at a time.

This is a great little song and very well presented on here with a smashing picture. You are so talented in so many areas Sir and I always enjoy your work. Well done, cheers Fez
