This is a great free style poem that reflects the morning blues you felt. I won't say that I don't feel like that. Sometimes that is the mood that fuels the release of my dark poems. Well done, Tom.

I can surely relate to this.
In fact this could even be my morning mantra. Lol. mantra
The image is so effective in this form-- It makes you look a little over it for sure.

I imagine you were feeling a bit redundant at the time and writing this seemed a way of coping until you'd found a new direction. Retirement in its early days can feel a bit like the scrap heap of life. Your poetry and photography seem to have given you a new lease of life -- Santa!

A fun little poem and great Santa selfie too:) That is a great way to get rid of the morning blues - put on its shoes and send them away.

Has a great flow, rhythm, and the rhyming is well done, in that there's no awkwardness to it. Reads beautifully. Also like the structure of the poem. A fun read. Les
